Originally scheduled for release today, the disc-based retail release of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead has been delayed until next week, meaning another seven days to wait until you can get stuck into all of those meaty decisions and emotional, nerve-jangling narrative.

Priced at $29.99 for the standard edition, The Walking Dead will also be available as a $69.99 Collector's Edition including a 48-page graphic novel at GameStop, as reported back in October. Best Buy meanwhile, is offering the game with a variant cover and poster insert.

The Walking Dead will be coming to retail on a disc in its five episode entirety on December 11th. Check out what it'll look like below.

@2 it is good though for people who don't buy digital downloads, and there are many who won't for many different reasons. It means then it opens it up to a lot more gamers

Doesnt surprise me. This game has a habit of being postponed.
Quick question for anyone who has the walkign dead books, how much did you pay for them ? The bookstore near me has them priced around £25 becasue I live in a high tourism area.

@2/3 - It's only a waste for you and people who already own it.

I personally do not own it on XBLA yet, I am waiting for this, but I am not buying it at launch. Why? Like you said, it is cheaper on XBLA ($25) or even cheaper on PSN/Steam ($20 for Season Pass), so nobody in their right mind should pay $30.

But since it is a physical disc, that means it will be sitting at Gamestop, price dropping. So one day I can get it for $20 or less, on a disc. Sooo... sounds good to me.

Pissed about the ending and to be honest dont know what direction season 2 will take, it's easy to kill off characters on a tv series, but a computer game?

"including a 48-page graphic novel at GameStop" it's a lot more then 48 pages... more like 1088 pages. You mean issues 1-48?

EB here has it, so, I don't know what the wait is for. Maybe a day one patch, to fix the lag isn't ready? They'll probably be told to not sell it yet. Not sure, but, I'm getting it. Walking Dead fan (comic, show and game). Will also free up 3gb+ on my system.

This was a wonderful game. If you were waiting till you could buy a hard copy to play it, then you are in for a treat. I wish they would have added some exclusive extra to the retail store edition, a mini episode, new acheivements, etc. then it would be a day 1 buy for me.

It's not a 48 page graphic novel, it's over 1000 pages. It says it in the picture.

Come to the UK and I'll buy it for sure, didn't download any of the episodes solely because I like having a disc on my shelf showing that I have that game, looks kickass too. I did however, spoil it for myself by watching walkthroughs and stuff. I have to say it's well worth that, best storyline I've seen in a while. So emotional :'(

@23 - Way to spoil it for other members, at least put Spoiler as the first word so people don't start reading expecting it to be a normal comment you complete knob.

You can get the compendium for cheaper at Amazon, but it won't have that cover art.

If that sort of thing is important to you, that is...

#1 Hello, yes European and outside of other countries will have this soon when TellTale Games confirm it and mention TellTale Games said they will confirm date and price for outside of US soon. They promise it will be.

I love The Walking Dead and one of best games ever made and one of best XBLA titles of all-time. I will not get this special edition collection because I already got 500G completed for that game. But I look forward The Walking Dead: Season 2, I think this one will be somewhere around later in 2013 or early 2014 or maybe for next Xbox and PS4 for their downloadable or maybe The Walking Dead: Season 2 get retail discs only this time. I don't care if Season 2 is downloadable game or retail game as long as Season 2 is another great The Walking Dead series!! :)

The Walking Dead got amazing story of all episodes, nice graphics, great point & click gameplay, great personal throughout episodes and making your decide choices. Oh lord, I loved that franchise. Well done to TellTale Games for their brilliant game to be made.

Now those 5 games list for me hard decide who will win Game of the Year 2012 for me.

The Walking Dead
Far Cry 3
Halo 4
Mass Effect 3

Those 5 is top best 2012 games. :)

i would be more interested in this if it came with seperate achievements. i would go back through and make different decisions granted i could get the achievements again. if anyone knows id like to know. also i would love that book, but not gonna pay a hefty 70 bucks for it, sorry. but then again you get game (29.99) plus book, so might actually be a deal.

It's not banned in Australia!!!! FFS... Telltale fucked us over, and didn't even bother to submit it for classification... Thousands of people are willing to throw money at them, but they couldn't be fecked submitting it...

You guys know it's not a 48 page graphic novel its the first 48 issues of the graphic novel (which is about half the novel's life span) in a limited edition cover art.
