Good games so far, only need to wait for W8.Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 06:14 AM
is this shit free? if not then fuck off!Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 06:31 AM
Aren't most of these games already on windows 8?Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 06:33 AM
Microsoft should be concern about ideas for new Xbox exclusives, instead of thinking in game ports for Windows 8.Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 06:33 AM
#4 Yes, I think so. Certainly seen Hydro Thunder, Pinball, Wordament and Minesweeper.Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 06:37 AM
#5 I think Microsoft is big enough to do both. And Windows 8 desperately needs some love if it is to gain traction.Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 06:40 AM
@3 You, good sir, are a spoiled douche!Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 06:50 AM
These have been available for some time now Toy Soldiers 4 Elements: Special Edition Hydro Thunder Hurricane Rocket Riot 3D Reckless Racing Ultimate Microsoft Solitaire Collection Microsoft Mahjong Microsoft Minesweeper Taptiles Adera Pinball FX2 Wordament Gunstringer: Dead Man Running Ilomilo+ The FREE ones are Wordament and the 3 Mircosoft games I believe Wonder whats happening with the WP8 titles as we haven't had a game since Nov now which is shocking if MS want the platform to be a success or atleast compete with iOS and Android!!!Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 06:55 AM
Does it have achievements?Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 07:01 AM
@10 Obviously you didn't watch the video then. Of course it has achievements.Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 07:08 AM
@10 Yes they do. The Microsft tites are only 50g (prob cause they're free but then again so is wordament and that has 200g) Adera has 400g and a few others have over 200g due to dlc I think. Jetpack Joyride is FREE aswellWednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 07:20 AM
Does anyone know...Im sure i know the (greed)answer, but if I bought it for WP7 do I get to upgrade it to WP8 for free, cuz im not paying for the same game twice...Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 07:21 AM
im sad that Toy Soldiers (not available on Windows RT) that I cant get it on RTWednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 08:07 AM
@zeroy042 Your WP7 games are tied to the account you used to purchase them. If you upgrade to a WP8 phone, as long as you use the same Microsoft account then you should be able to download the game again to your new phone.Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 08:14 AM
These have been our for ages . Also pacman is missing , the very title the site told us was out 3 days ago .Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 08:23 AM
Has PlayXBLA.com always been owned by Microsoft? Or is it a new thing?Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 08:39 AM
@9 Apps still come out frequently. Just because LIVE enabled ones don't come out (and they have since November, though they're Nokia exclusives) doesn't means apps aren't being released. The platform is being supported fine, achievements and LIVE are not a sign of support of the platform.Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 08:47 AM
Is this an old article that just got published? All of these games are already out for W8 and most of them were launch titles.Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 09:42 AM
@18 well alot of us feel quite the opposite. The main draw for WP7 and 8 is that it features xbox live (something the adverts on tv are also keen to promote) so the fact that we haven't had a title in 6 weeks now that we can ALL play (not the Nokia exclusive last week that's glitched anyway) is a definate sign of a lack of support at the moment. Even today on my phone in the spotlight section it shows a total of 12 games set to come from 1 publisher in 2012/2013 and not 1 has arrived yet so that's the 2012 part out of the window! There is just no clear plan from MS with regards to WP at the moment and this is after such a bright start which included 3/4 games in the 1st week WP8 was release (2 of which were just for WP8) Yes apps come out for the OS but they are either absolute rubbish, pale in comparison to their iOS/Android counterparts or are just plain broken. This is nothing to shout about. Just look at Facebook! The WP app is terrible compared to the other OS apps and is basic to say the least.Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 09:45 AM
Sounds like someone messsed up on the news page. Half those things are already on windows 8, I have the games already installed with achievements WTF!Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 10:13 AM
All of those games but the last one are out. Most of them launch titles.Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 10:29 AM
I dont even get the point of what Microsoft is doing with this announcement. All of these games are out already, except Skulls of the Shogun which will be out at the end of the month. Are they just announcing that they made games already? Also, Adera Episode 1 (200G) is free and is awesome. Pick it up everyone! The other episodes (which all go accumulate on a single game) are $5 though.Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 11:11 AM
You really had me excited for a bit with this article until I noticed that I'd already had most of these games for quite some time...Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 12:29 PM
They also need to compromise on the price of things before they smother another idea to death. People aren't batting a lash at Surface despite it's greatness because of the price. Live games on WP7/8 are grossly inflated most of the time, and the windows 8 games are even worse along with Games on Demand - they know how to be competitive when it comes to suing someone or building an actual product, but no clue on how to be competitive with what will capture their customers better. Whoever they have making those price structures is a total clownWednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 12:46 PM
@7: Sure Microsoft is big enough to both. But yet, they keep making games of the same exclusives over and over.Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 01:16 PM
are there achievements on these gamesWednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 01:23 PM
@27 Yes see #12 + #23Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 01:40 PM
@7 Windows 8 is horrendous. If I wanted a tablet, I'd buy a tablet, not a PC or laptop.Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 03:18 PM
The first Toy Soldiers is on Steam and everything on this list is crap. I'm sorry, but honestly why should I pay money for stuff on Windows 8 when it's cheaper on Steam for the most part. Windows 8 is pointless, it's just Windows 7 with a start menu with no official option to switch back. Waste of money.Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 04:08 PM
@20 Spot on, the way MS treats Windows Phone really baffles me. For a product struggling to gain a decent foothold in a very well established market it really does act like it doesn't give a toss whether it succeeds or not. You'd think they'd be pulling out all the stops to get Halo/Gears/Forza etc on to the platform.Wednesday, January 16, 2013 @ 04:54 PM
@29; I'm on a W8 laptop right now, and it works great! No complaints, and I have a WP8 device too, Lumia 920 to be exact. To each their own, but at least justify your reasoning for why W8 is "horrendous." OT: To many games in my backlog to be starting new ones. Plus, I'm not a huge fan of these cheapy little games (granted some of them are good). Clever of MS to hook new people/gamers, etc on achievements by giving their freebie games achievements. Way to sucker them in!Thursday, January 17, 2013 @ 08:11 AM
These games are all now available on Windows RT (Surface) when previously they were not. I believe that is the point of this announcement. I am getting the free games on my tablet now.
