Some of Disney and Pixar's best known characters are being brought together for Disney Infinity, the House of Mouse's take on Activision's Skylanders franchise, with its own line of collectible figurine toys that can be transported into the game via the 'Infinity base'.
Here's what the Disney Infinity platform will include:
- Disney Infinity Interactive Pieces – Initially a line of 40 collectible interactive pieces will be introduced that allow players to expand and customize their play experiences.
- Disney Infinity Interactive Character Figures – Seventeen character figures will allow players to experience a variety of their favorite characters in true to property experiences and in “Toy Box” mode.
- Disney Infinity Base – When figures are placed on the Infinity base, they unlock the world and play experiences of Disney Infinity.
- Disney Infinity Power Discs – Interactive discs can be placed on the Infinity base to power up characters and “Toy Box” with unique powers, customizations and gadgets.
Offering a story-driven experience, each Disney Infinity 'Play Set' will include various puzzles to solve, enemies to battle and iconic locations to explore. You can collect vehicles, characters and gadgets to add to your Toy Box, which can then be accessed for building and customising your own virtual world using your collected accessories.
Disney Infinity will be heading to consoles in June 2013. Check out the debut trailer and screenshots below. You'll find all 16 shots in the gallery.
