Game looks horrible, I wish they kept it as it was originally advertised. Now it is just a 5/10 hack and slash. No more cutting watermelons into 50 tiny pieces. Mash X until prompted to do a god of war finishing move.

@2 I take it you didn't play the demo then. Because if all you do is hit X, You're going to die a lot. You have to know when to attack, and be quick on the parry button too. It takes a good amount of skill to be good at this game, and I can't wait to play the full version.

@2
Go masterdebate your negativity somewhere else, bitch. Game looks horrible?? You're a tool. There are a lot more elements to this game than hack and slashing. Manual sword mode, stealth areas, etc. Never doubt Hideo Kojima like you just did. That kind of disrespect will get you smacked in the mouth, boy.

Moving on, I played the demo, and the game is actually really dope. The combos were fluid and very well animated. It also seems that when you deliver the final blow on the larger enemies it gives you a cool animation. Looking forward to this one!

I cant wait for this game. But I will say one thing. The slow mo cutting feature in this game is not new. They took it from afro samurai. Still a great game though

I'm a massive Metal Gear fan, whether it be MGS or not. However this is such a letdown, i really disliked the demo. I guess it will appeal to some but massive fanboys of the franchise (like myself) will not.

@8 I'm glad you speak for all massive fans of the franchise. I'm a huge metal gear fan and I couldn't be more excited for this. Looks amazing. It's not supposed to be like what we're used to, so I'm not sure how it's a letdown.

I'm just saying it's my opinion. I was one of the few who liked playing as Raiden in MGS2 so i'm ok with change. It's just for me, i really dislike the game. The story doesn't fit very well and it feels like a cheap, arcade game.

That may be harsh but it doesn't seem to have the charm, or feel of a published Konami title that the other MGS games have.I know its not an MGS game but i guess i should have expected something massiveness different. Bottom line, it really isn't my thing.

I downloaded the demo but I haven't had time to give this a shot yet. I have a lot of faith in Platinum Games so hopefully I'll enjoy it.

I was kind of excited for this game, but then I played the demo. After playing other games made by Platinum it just feels so damn slow. I feel like the character should feel more agile than he does.

It's not MGS5 and it isn't going to be the future of the series, so stop whining and just enjoy playing as a pretty kick ass cyborg ninja

I loved demo and it is great that i played last few days. Look forward full version.

Game is lots of challenge. It is take amount of skills that I agreed with other comment on that. Game force you to do good skills. There no dodge skill where you would dodge roll out of enemy attacks like Bayonetta, DmC, God of War, Ninja Gaiden and other games. So MGR: R is more challenge and difficult this time then any other hack and slash games because of no dodge roll / out skills with amount of skills to kill enemies and avoid their attacks. It is seem more and more hardcore hack and slash. :P

Loved the demo. Platinum Games are great at making Action Games. Pre-ordered and will be picking up the collector's edition day one.

First time I played the Demo (ZoE version) the MGS fanboy in me made me hate it. I then sat down and tried it again a few weeks later and fell in love with it. I just want the Grey Fox skin the most! I can't wait to play through this!

I wish they would have released 3 versions here in the US. Vanilla version, a Steelbook version with the Soundtrack and this version. I really want the Steelbook and the Soundtrack, but don't care about the lamp (It is cool, just dont know where I would display it and it doesn't fit into my decor).

Plus this LE is ridiculously overpriced! I don't see where a steelbook, soundtrack and this lamp justify $90 more than the vanilla version. If it were $100, I would buy it. $150 is way, way too much!!

Just played the demo.

I strongly would've appreciated a 'block' button or at least a dodge roll or something cuz trying to parry one attack when you're getting shot at from all directions is not helpful. That and trying to actually do the damn parry (especially against that cyborg wolf boss fight) was so 'WHEN THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO PARRY!?' (I tried at many different timing points before its attacks and actually landed the parry about 11% of the time). Other then that I see myself buying the game...eventually. Proly not day one though, too many other games I want coming out next month and the month after.

@25: Not to be overly critical, but parrying is rather easy to do. It's comparable to the Royal Guard Style of Devil May Cry or Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa from Bayonetta (the only different with the latter is you have to press the X button at the same time, but being able to do one is good muscle memory for the other). You're not supposed to press the button before the attacks, but rather, the moment the attack would hit you, or even a split second before. Depending on how precise you were, you will either block the attack, or even counterattack, which will leave your enemy temporarily stunned.

@26 the parrying is made even easier by the fact that enemies have red eye glints and they glow orange before they attack you.

@26: I did try it at those times and that's when I land the 11% of it. The 'glint' mentioned by #27 happens too soon before you're supposed to do it so its not much of help. And having to press the Left Stick in conjunction with the 'X' button makes it feel clunkier then something like a parry should be. If the designed the input around a better parry like the one IN SF 2rd Strike then it'd have been more manageable imo.

looks awesome and plays even better...pay no attention to the "gamers" who seem to know how the game plays despite them never playing it...lol, pathetic. So for those, just remember " It is better to be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt". Please wait until you actually play a game before assuming you know everything about it.

I agree with #25, having a block or Dodge button would be better. I am struggling on beating the dog boss, and I worry that If I cannot master the parry then there is no point buying the full game. Shame as was enjoying the demo up until that point...

having a block or dodge would def make the game better, i couldnt beat that wolf boss on normal in the demo (was ashamed of myself) played it again on easy and i did it no problem, im buying it day one but i need to master the parry or im screwed.

great game tho completely different and i like that. I love mgs like the rest of the fanboys in here but i understand unlike alot of other people that this is a one of a kind and not where the series is headed.
