Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Return in Three New Activision Games

It has been an open secret for some time now, but Activision has finally confirmed its multi-year deal with Nickleodeon to develop and publish new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games.

Three games are planned, the first of which will arrive “this summer.” No platforms, or even a developer, were confirmed, though we do know that the games will be based around the new animated show, which debuted last year across the world. A second series is expected later this year.

"The fans of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are unique in that they span generations and are very passionate. We respect this passion and look forward to working with Nickelodeon to create games that embody the spirit of the property," ," said Activision Publishing vice president Kurt Niederloh.

"We are confident that these upcoming games will take gamers through interactive environments and action-packed adventures that truly capture the essence, tone and exciting elements of the Turtles," added Sherice Torres, senior VP of entertainment products for Nickelodeon Consumer Products.

Wonder if one of these 3 games is a Lego game to go with the recent TMNT Lego range.

I'd love them to make a more adult orientated TMNT, doubt it will ever happen.

So is it going to be arcade or retail? Either way, I'm hyped! Hopefully if it's retail, it'll have a nice pre order bonus other than skins or something...
also, I'd like to see metalhead!!

I was a HUGE fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles back in the old school days of its original animated show, NES games, and the first and second films (the 3rd one can go to hell)! I thought the TMNT movie wasn't bad and actually enjoyed the couple of episodes I got to catch of the newest show so I hope the license gets put to good use (a bit worried that the holder is Activison) and the developers of the next 3 planned games are just as big of fans of the original stuff as I was.

Btw, I think a Lego TMNT game would be pretty sweet! Feels like it'd be perfect for it especially with its most recent iteration. Though i'd LOVE to see a new TMNT Tournament Fighters (one like the Sega and SNES game not the Wii smash bros-ish one). :D

I was waiting for and super excited for new TMNT games. I love the new IDW comic and I like the new Nickelodeon cartoon.

But why Activision?

Anyway, I am hoping Traveler's Tales/WB get ahold of the rights to make a LEGO TMNT game as well, since they have the legos out and that only means it's a matter of time.

Activision, please do "NOT FUCK IT UP" like you did with 007 franchise. Oh please. It is better not like 007 did. Famous Movie based franchise then dead from Activision so I not want Famous Cartoon based franchise become placed like 007 in next few years. :/

I do hope new publisher look after well with 007 if they interest in it. I want Activision to re-think careful and look after well with other franchises. Not keep their 2 eyes on CoD series all fucked times. Other franchises want Activision to look after it well. :/

i miss eastman and laird. man has this franchise gone down since those days. the gritty edge it use to have. thanks to archie, we lost that greatness that was originally created. i hope they go back to eastman and laird.

Would love to play a fun TMNT game but we have always been disappointed in the past and since it's Activision, my hopes aren't high

But I'd love them for proving me wrong

Heh, they were only Hero Turtles in the UK because it was felt that Ninja was too aggressive for children.

Just give this to Rocksteady and let them make a game like the Batman series, TMNT deserve it and it would be just pure awesome.

the new sgow is fantastic just as much for readers of the original comics as it is for my son and I. I am glad it bares no resemblance to those awful movies or that old stupid animated series. eveything on the show rules. looking forward to these games.

Will be interesting. Hopefully at least one of them have a more classic Turtles look, but I'm not confident on that. One thing I do hope to see is a Ninja Turtle outfit in CoD. Way I see it, Acti includes or makes it free DLC, what better way to promote the show in the world of gaming?
