Activision: Skylanders and Call of Duty Contribute to $1.77 Billion Q4 Earnings

The biggest publisher in the games industry has posted fourth quarter earnings of $1.77 billion, on the back of strong performances from both Skylanders and Call of Duty.

The numbers are well ahead of Activision’s expectations. The publisher had predicted earnings of $1.49 billion, with last year’s fourth quarter takings coming in at $1.41 billion. In terms of revenue, the numbers are up $100 million year-on-year to $4.86 billion.

Skylanders and Call of Duty are responsible for the upswing. Indeed, Skylanders has sold over 100 million toy figures, to register lifetime sales of over a billion dollars as of December 3st.

So yeah, they’re kinda rich.

"We are very pleased to report that Activision Blizzard delivered the best performance in its history," said Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick while riding his diamond encrusted horse.

So glad my kids have shown zero interest in Giants, I spent a bundle keeping them happy with figures for the first game.

Every year they rake in the $$ from COD and they still don't say thanks to the people supporting them. Is 1 free map pack too much to ask for?
Or at least make the dlc worth the money you charge for it.

It's sickening to see these figures.
All I can see is an image of hogs gathered around a pig sty rolling in money.

Way I see it, lack of an online pass is equal to 'Free DLC'. Which is more than what EA do with FIFA.

This is good news, I was worried Activision may have been running out of money.
