Murdered: Soul Suspect
Murdered: Soul Suspect Teased By Square Enix

Square Enix has offered up a tantalising tease of Murdered: Soul Suspect, with the official site asking "what is the hardest case to solve?" The site also sports a cryptic symbol scrawled in chalk on a dark street with puddles. What does it all mean?

“Murdered: Soul Suspect is an exciting new game from Square Enix which challenges players to solve possibly the hardest case of all”, reads a statement from Square Enix.

If you complete the web game that comes with the tease, you'll also find the screenshot we've embedded at the bottom of the page, with the accompanying message as follows:

O’Connor, male, mid- 30s, 170lbs, 5’ 11”

Detectives aren’t supposed to get bloody knuckles, but I’ve done a lot of things I wasn’t supposed to do. I lived through it all, the beat-downs, the back-stabbing, disrespect most people wouldn’t see in ten lifetimes and I never lost a fight… until now.

What do you reckon Murdered: Soul Suspect is? We know it's almost certainly coming to the Xbox Live Arcade, looks like a detective murder mystery, and that's about it. Take a look at the images below.

Interesting idea, i like something that could be a bit more challenging, and the graphics look good for an arcade game.

Hmm, I'm guessing something similar to the Sherlock Holmes games, could be interesting if done right.

Hopefully this will revive the genre after the numerous CSI games that have been publishing in the last few years.

Could it possibly be a next gen tease? I know there is already 1 game confirmed to be next gen, but I'm curious. Looks good though!

Please, god, don't be a paranormal detective game. I've really had my fill of that shit. I wouldn't even mind some boring but intriguing mystery like Hotel Dusk, it isn't always necessary to be facing some kind of antichrist/apocalyptic situation.
