A new trailer for Mass Effect 3's Citadel DLC shows the Citadel under siege when Commander Shepard takes some time out for some rest and relaxation as instructed by Captain Anderson.

Invaded by armour-clad terrorists trying to kill Shepard, you'll reunite with all your old Normandy crew buddies to take on the threat in one final adventure. You'll only encounter certain characters if you've met them in the main game however, and there'll be romances to reignite or begin as you see fit.

Mass Effect 3: The Citadel is out tomorrow on the Xbox Live Marketplace for 1200 Microsoft Points. It's so big that you'll have to download the paid part and then a second free part. Wowzers.

I'm not going to give up on this series. Although many of the DLC's have been under my expectations I hope that at least with this last one things are done right.

Cute sendoff, everybody say NORMANDY!

@5 It can be done anytime after Priority: The Citadel II and before the endgame point of no return.

Still curious as to why Shepherd would be resting and relaxing in the middle of a reaper invasion......

@7 Probably because Shepard knows there's a chance not all of them will make it, and it might be the last time he sees these people, his friends, comrades, and loved ones. I'm sure if you where in a similar situation you would want that last chance to be with the people you care most about too.

@9 Same here Mass Effect (IMO) is the best Space Sci-Fi Video Game series ever made. After the extended cut DLC I was 100% satisfied with the ending of ME3; & I'm very much looking forward too more adventures in the ME universe with Mass Effect 4.

An amazing sendoff. From 2:08 to the end it shows how Bioware understands the crazy ride us Mass Effect players have been on for the past 6 years. From the characters, we've created the strongest of ties with to the ones we've purposely let die due to the "lack" of ship upgrades. Now Bioware has done a crap load of mistakes in the past and I've lost faith in the company as a whole, but after watching this I'm filled with a certain vigor. A vigor I remember feeling when I first threw Mass Effect in back in '07. Thank you, Bioware.

This looks like It'll send the ME trilogy off like it should be sent off. Of course, a better ending would have been a nice send off, but this is good. Reuniting with all characters is AMAZING. Here's to this DLC not being a flop like the last couple.

@6 Is this 100% confirmed? Just did Priority: Citadel II on my Insanity playthrough and thought I'd messed up the DLC 'cause Thane and Mordin wouldn't be in it. I guess they were never meant to be. Pity. I thought Shepard was putting the band back together.

Im very sad that this is the last time we see or play as Shepard & Co. For all its highs, lows & minor faults Mass Effect is pretty much the best Sc-fi universe out there (sorry Farscape), game or movie!

Bioware suffered the same fate as Westwood Studios. Once EA buys you, the quality of your games decline considerably. This DLC confirms and validates, beyond any glimmer of hope, the current endings where you choose red, green, or blue and your choices have no impact whatsoever( even though they said they would since Mass Effect 1).

@22 Yeah, it is a shame that Bioware gave in to the trend of turning every game into a safe, generic shooter. But wishing ill on their employees isn't cool. You'll probably find that's where most of the negetive votes came from. Including mine.

You're fucking retarded.

EA doesn't have any control over whether or not the endings have any effect. Also, they do have an effect. Sometimes it's best to use your imagination. God...So dumb.

Will be buying this and the Omega one on sale. Very excited.

I miss when ME DLCs were 400-560 MSP. To me, some are spectacular, but that's all they're really truly worth. Lair of the Shadow Broker turned out to be the only one worth 800 MSP.

It's been really disappointing to see the majority of the ME3 DLC get the $15 treatment. I won't pay $15 for a piece of single player story-driven DLC that I'll experience for 4 hours and then hardly touch again. Especially if it's a "final send-off" that won't resonate for me.

Ultimately, the price points have resulted in me not investing the Omega or Citadel until they're on sale. I wouldn't have bought them if they were excellent. I certainly won't buy them if they're mediocre. In my opinion, if this was still ME2-era, these 2 DLCs would probably end up being 560 MSP. I would have invested in them on their launch days in that case.

The trend is really disappointing. I bought From Ashes day one because I was hyped beyond belief for Mass Effect 3, and I really wanted some light shed on the Protheans. Ultimately, I didn't regret that purchase because I saw it as another piece of the game, since I digested it in my first playthrough.

I bought and played Leviathan day one for its 800 MSP price point, trusting it would be the same brand of excellence as the Shadow Broker DLC was for ME2. I had this trust because Shadow Broker was the only ME2 DLC to have reached the $10 price point. Everything prior to and following that stuck to the cool $7 price point or less. Overall, the price point seemed very proportional to quality for ME2 - I always felt satisfied that I got the proper bang for my buck.

Additionally, Bioware had illustrated a good sensibility in making all of the multiplayer DLC and the Extended Cut DLC completely free. So I indulged Leviathan on its first day, trusting Bioware's sense of quality versus value. Wrongly trusting that. Leviathan didn't suck, don't get me wrong. But it wasn't very engaging. It lacked pacing. It was very brief and unintriguing. But its biggest folly, in my opinion, was the payoff. All it did was add additional forces to combat the Reapers and shed some light on their creation. It revealed some tantalizing bits, but that's not reason enough alone to shell out $10. The arc didn't warrant itself. It needed its own sense of spectacle, as almost all previous ME DLC has demonstrated (except perhaps Arrival). A moment to step away from the pressing matter of the Reaper invasion and investigate and solve some other interesting crisis, if you will.

Leviathan was not that. It was another augmentation to the ending that simply seemed overpriced. It was worthy of being 400 MSP easily, and -maybe- 560 MSP, but NOT 800. I was very quick to pick up on this trend with ME3's DLC, and so when Omega was announced at an unprecedented (for ME DLC) 1200 MSP, I immediately made the decision to wait and see. And according to almost everybody, I was right in that decision. I still haven't experienced the DLC, and I won't until I can get it for cheaper.

And it'll be the same, unfortunately, with Citadel. And it's very saddening. I hate to see this overpriced DLC trend exacerbated in franchises that used to be models to the contrary.

Now this is something I like, we may yet get the romance options that mass effect 3 deserved yet. We may also finally get to see Tali's face (I'm still bitter about that almost a year later.)

Welp. Finished the DLC and I have to say...

Totally worth it.

The dialogue and interaction is so entertaining, and Wrex gets to be on your squad for the first time in a long time ^^. Adding in the post-dlc chats, the party (also totally worth it), and the actual plot (nice plot twist), this is more than worth the price.

And just to be Tali face.

Sry, but we do get Tali singing, and drunk. and dancing. And hungover :D.

But overall, I loved it, and it certainly made up for Omega.
