Rare has posted several job vacancies as it looks to staff up for a new Kinect project that's currently shrouded in mystery. The timing suggests that the project could be a next-generation Xbox title, meaning it's likely to utilise the rumoured Kinect 2.0.
The vacancies are looking for "an experience, passionate and high technical" Engineer, with experience with cloud-based services proving "desirable" for the candidate. A Region Design Manager is also required to help create "the next jaw-dropping, never-been-done-before Rare project," with "experience of motion gaming, especially Kinect technology" apparently very important.
And last but not least, Rare is also on the lookout for an Expert Physics Engineer to "deliver advanced game engine software for use within the studio" and "ensure that content authoring tools and the asset pipeline efficiently fulfill the evolving needs of physics based gameplay and animation."
Could Rare be working on a cloud-based Kinect title with realistic physics? It certainly sounds fairly plausible, and could possible be a new Kinect Sports title or something similar. Or it could be something brand new. Only time (and an official announcement) will tell.
