Dead Space 3: Awakened DLC Brings the Terror Next Week

More Dead Space 3 will be coming next week with the Awakened DLC, which promises "some of the most disturbing content ever seen in a Dead Space game," according to Visceral Games boss Steve Papoutsis.

Expanding upon the Dead Space 3 story, the DLC sees Isaac and Carver taking on another, more fanatical Unitology cult who appear to have spliced themselves with Necromorph parts. It all looks incredibly dark and twisted, and therefore potentially vintage Dead Space (fingers crossed).

Watch the trailer and peruse the screenshots for the upcoming Awakened DLC below. It'll be heading to Dead Space 3 on March 12th for 800 Microsoft Points. You can read our Dead Space 3 verdict here.

  • Mmkay fuck the guy above. This should be interesting tho. More dead space=more happiness for me
  • @1 - Your sexual preferences are kind of off topic. How do you feel about the DLC?
  • I haven't even bought this game yet... I was saving up for Naruto Storm 3.. But I need to get this next. Love dead space :)
  • "To activate horror mode in this DLC, please purchase the "Horror Mode" activation pass from the micro-market place for only 300MSP"
  • Getting this, co-op it too :), Im sorta hoping that the limited edition contents come as a download at like 400 points but they would probably charge 800 :(
  • So it's set after the end game then? Unless it's a 'missing chapter' i can't see any other way it can fit in the timeline. :-)
  • Looks good! I'll be getting this.
  • Hell yeah, back to the Terra Nova, the best part of DS3.
  • Yawn
  • Accidentally saved over my 96% file for my NG+ so I'm a little put off. But I'll definitely get this.
  • @7 It will have to be set during the main campaign, most likely as another side mission or a side campaign within the campaign. There is virtually no way it takes place after the campaign considering how it ends.
  • What did #1 say? I always miss these things :(. OP: I can't wait for this :D
  • Tomb raider, Sniper ghost warrior 2, Gears, Bioshock, ME3 dlc, DS3 dlc, RE6 dlc, maybe new AC3 dlc. man my checking account hates me this month
  • For more lit candles in the background proceed to the microtransaction menu. 20msp for each candles,
  • @14 I know! I have batman:AC, El Shaddai, finish dead space 3, L4d2, red dead, black ops 2 campaign, and bioshock: infinite Coming out. Excited, but NO TIME!
  • No thanks for me, as I don't plan to buy the game. If they wanted to bring back the terror, they should have leave the game as the previous ones, and not doing a "Gears of War" clone with lots of action. I saw on vgchartz the first one sold more than 3 millions (360/PS3/PC), the second one sold near 3 millions (360/PS3/PC) and the third one sold 850,000. Seems the gamers finally talked with their wallets, I have a little more faith in humanity again :D
  • *left*
  • It's confirmed after game. About Isaac and Carver trying to get back to Earth.
  • @ 12 Did you not watch all the way to the end of the credits? ;-) As 19 has said, now confirmed end game content. Day 1 download for me. :-)
  • I'm getting this as well. Note that this is how you do epilogue DLC. Make the retail game have a satisfying conclusion, and then hint at things to come. Not like FFXIII-2 with its "To be continued..." crap cliffhanger, or Prince of Persia where you undo your entire campaign in 5 seconds and need to buy the ending. Dead Space 3 was fantastic, and most the people bashing it actually haven't played it.
  • Like many have said, I wonder when in the DS3 story line this DLC takes place? LOL @ all the kids talking shit before playing the game, ONCE. The game is solid, despite the negative shift in tone, the stupid love triangle, and the numerous micro transactions, it is a very fun game. I can't wait to jump into this dlc. I was one of the most critical fans during the release of DS3, and although the shift in tone is not welcome in DS3, the game itself is great. Different reasons for being great than past DS games, but still great.
  • Look forward to DLC and will play with friend on coop in it. :):):) hehehehe
  • Oh yeah milk me milk me EA harder harder......
  • @#22 lol @ you eeeen321! this game is bad. It was made for females & pussys like you. It is the easiest dead space game. full of glitches, exploits & shit. coop & unniversal ammo. A broken system + It is full of action. Do you think it is fun? LOL @ people like YOU playing """horror""" games
  • hopefully you can use the devil horns in the dlc!!!
  • @22 the trailer above makes it clear it's after the end of DS3, just look at the moon.
  • @25 STFU and bore off we all have our opinions so accept them and fuck off.
  • Oh cool, love this game :) just finished my first playthrough. Wonder if this is a side quest during a chapter, or is it stand alone?
  • @14 You're not alone. Bought Six games over a week and man I am stocked up on games until South Park comes out. Btw, tomb raider is coming to me. yay!
  • @25 i think the truth is your the pussy and talk big on here, sort out yourself because it seems like you have issues, on topic cant wait for this sounds good
  • @25 really?
  • hey #25 you're a dick...how about you give up gaming and or get a clue, you pleb.
  • @17 - EA apparently set a 5 million sales target, almost the same as the first two games combined... Nothing like setting someone up to fail...
  • DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS there are lots of em
  • @25 and you're still playing it. I assume you're just a lonely person trying to find some social interactions. Well played, dude.
  • Liars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Its a DLC that I am looking forward to. Unfortunately I am here on this site posting comments instead of playing it. BOOOO!
  • Heard its less than an hour long.
  • Just finished my first playthrough of this dlc. I liked it, good story and I even jumped in my chair once or twice, but it's kind of short - with just 3 chapters.
