Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Desilets has returned to Ubisoft, it has been confirmed.
Desilets left Ubisoft in 2011 to join THQ Montreal, where he began work on a new project. However, following THQ’s collapse, Ubisoft snapped up the Montreal studio and said that it was too early to comment on Desilets’ fate.
Now, however, Desilets’ return to the fold has been confirmed in a Ubisoft statement.
"We are very pleased to welcome Patrice to Ubisoft again and anticipate that this renewed partnership will produce new ideas and high-quality titles for Ubisoft's customers," a spokesperson told Polygon.
Included as part of the THQ Montreal acquisition was Desilets’s new game, called 1666. You can read a little wild speculation about the unannounced project here.
