We're not entirely sure that this is completely above board, but if you enter a button combination on one of Gears of War: Judgment's game menus, you can play a game of Warzone. You'll remember Warzone mode as one of Gears of War 1, 2 and 3's staple multiplayer game-types.
You can access Warzone using one of the numerous walkthrough videos floating around on YouTube, or just follow these simple instructions. After starting up the game, choose the Private Match option, then highlight Team Deathmatch and press A. At the next prompt press the A and B buttons simultaneously and when the game asks "You are about to start a match. Continue?", press A to confirm. Easy peasy.
The discovery of the playable Warzone mode hidden away in Gears of War: Judgment has sparked speculation as to whether it had been intended as DLC, but apparently the mode is a remnant of game code ported across from Gears of War 3.
"Thanks for the heads up, was easier to leave Warzone refs than rip out," Senior Multiplayer Programmer Peter Knepley wrote in response to a fan on Twitter. "It's not the polished Execution of April 2nd," Kneply added, referring to the Execution mode due next week. "I'd never say never, but Execution is way more popular than Warzone."
