Rayman Legends Delay Leads to 30 New Levels, Boss Fights

Ubisoft Montpellier has used the extra time afforded by Rayman Legends’ switch to multiplatform to create 30 extra levels and new boss battles for the game.

Rayman Legends was originally a Wii U exclusive, but when Ubisoft took the decision to bring the game to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, release was delayed by seven months.

And while Nintendo fans got their knickers in a twist about it - and even Rayman creator Michael Ancel protested the decision, fuelling rumours that he was to leave the company - the extra development time has been used wisely.

Senior Game Manager Michael Micholic said, "Trust me, the things we are adding aren't minor. We're not talking about adding some polish here and there, but 30 new levels and several new bosses."

Regarding the delay, Ancel added, “It was really hard for us. Of course, there are more important issues and problems in the world but we worked really hard to make something and were so involved, it was difficult for us and the fans."

Rayman Legends is out in September.

I'm usually pretty rubbish at platformers, but for some reason I was actually not bad at Origins and managed to get the platinum on the Vita. Knowing how good that game was, I will probably get Legends on the 360.

Sales were looking terrible for the Wii U so they delayed it now making it for more consoles, more content too so why not

Wow, if they really implement all those extra levels with new bosses without even selling Day 1 DLC's for those I'm pretty impressed.
Will this be actually be a trend to be more consumer-friendly to market the game better? First Fuse without Season Pass and DLC and now this announcement. YEY :)

"Fuse without Season Pass and DLC"
It was without an online pass and microtransactions, so they could still hit us with some DLC. ;)

That's great news. Most time, that extra content would have cost extra for day 1. Will get my hands on this.

@7 What is wrong with you? There is literally no reason at all to buy two copies of a single player game.

When I first heard it was a Wii U exclusive I was upset because I loved Origins. Extremely excited when I heard that it was coming to the 360 so I don't mind the delay especially since they are adding so much. Might actually get this game on launch.

@12 - With it being Ubisoft, they're more likely to be permanently PS3-exclusive.
