Codemasters has lifted the hood on GRID 2's multiplayer today, showing off the video uploading integration and competitive social aspects that come with RaceNet, which is also accessible on mobile devices. Promising a progression system separate from the career mode, GRID 2's multiplayer will offer greater depth, more progression and more rewards for players.
Quick races online for up to 12 players are among the multiplayer options alongside 2-player split-screen, as well as custom races and predefined playlists. Anti-griefing tech also ensures that aggressive players can trade paint together, while cleaner drivers can find similar racers online. There's also up to 6 billion customisation combinations on offer for your rides, with a host of liver creating options and paint jobs.
Game Modes include Race (Including LiveRoutes), Endurance, Drift, Touge, Checkpoint, Face Off, Time Attack, and Global Challenge events that include Overtake and Power Lap, with the ability to forge global rivalries and gain RaceNet followers for additional XP rewards and in-game cash, even when said rivals are offline.
Check out the first multiplayer screenshots below. There's 11 to look at in the gallery. GRID 2 is out on May 28th in North America and May 31st in Europe.
