Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is hugely popular, as we’re sure you already know. But when Mojang or 4J Studios put numbers on that popularity, it’s rarely less than astounding.
The latest stat? Players have racked up over one billion hours of gameplay.
“We’re excited to announce that with the help of you, our loyal community, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has reached over not one million, but one BILLION hours of gameplay!,” said PlayXBLA.
“We’re sure the second billion hours will be just as fun! Thanks for all your support and keep on gaming!”
Last we heard, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition had shifted 5 million copies as of January 2013, including the 453,000 copies shifted on Christmas Day alone. A well deserving winner of our Top 5 Success Stories of 2012 then.
