BioShock Infinite
This Week's UK Top 20 Xbox 360 Charts
Written By

BioShock Infinite has held on to the top spot for the third week running in the UK retail charts, despite a 44 per cent drop in sales week-on-week.

Indeed, the entirety of the top eight remains stagnant, with no changes whatsoever over last week. That’s especially good news for Trion Worlds’ mediocre Defiance, which sees off strong competition from the likes of Tomb Raider and FIFA 13.

At the other end of the charts, meanwhile, Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel looks to be limping out of the top 20 along with The Walking Dead: Survival Instincts, despite being relatively new releases.

Skyrim is falling out of the charts! People, don't let half of the shit in the charts overtake what is one of the best games ever created.

I'm happy to see that BioShock is holding on, it's very well deserved and requires the time of every single person that calls themselves a gamer. In fact, it requires the time of everyone in the world!

@2 Skyrim is the oldest single player game on this list. even though it's a super big game, you can do almost everything in a couple of weeks. People are finally starting to finish up on it

@2

Skyrim, is all Quantity, with very little quality, very good time/boredom killer, but not enough quality to make me play it over other things I have.

That said I have pumped a hell of a lot of hours into it, during the slumps.

@4, you're absolutely wrong though. Skyrim is 100% quality. There's always something to do in Skyrim.

@6 There may always be something to do in Skyrim, but that doesn't make it 100% quality.

Skyrim sucks, I'm amazed at how long it's been able to hold on to the charts. Hope Bioshock: Infinite can stay in the Top 20 longer than Skyrim.

@3 You do know this is a sales chart right? These are people buying Skyrim for the first time, it's not a chart based on how long they are playing it.

@7 Sure...Skyrim sucks...and no matter how good BioShock may be, it's an FPS. It won't stay on the charts for 75+ weeks like Skyrim did.

@6

All that Skyrim is, is:

HIT IT UNTIL IT DIES!!!!

Sure it is a massive game, but the combat is so weak, to the point where it is an absolute joke.

There is very little story.

The dragons are absolutely pathetic, they fly around, then land and basically say kill me.

Sure there is always something to do, but that indicates quantity, not quality.

if you were stuck on the toilet for six hours, would you consider it a quality, shit? I thought bot.

@10, ? Read 9.

Or did you mean that since it's another FPS in an industry of FPS games, people will overlook it?

I still continue to play Halo: Combat Evolved's campaign very often, despite being over a decade old. I think Infinite has more than enough pizzazz to continue attracting new consumers for another 70 weeks. Enough pizzazz to keep me playing for two decades.

@15 Well, I've played The Secret of Monkey Island fairly often. Losing steam, but I've been playing that somewhat consistantly for about 18 years. Still find the dialogue funny. I'll keep enjoying Infinite as long as my Xbox holds up.

Skyrim may lack the polish you normally find in other AAA games, but it more than makes up for it in its entertainment value. It does what a game is meant to do; it provides hours upon hours of entertainment. The amount of sales the game continues to make is a testament to its appeal to gamers. That's the real quality of the game, not how it looks, and the combat mechanics. Bethesda's games have always been about the person playing the game, making it in to what they want it to be.

BioShock Infinite is an absolutely phenomenal game, but it will only let you play within the linear confines of the story, which is still brilliant but I honestly don't see it staying in the charts over the summer, or after the DLC has been exhausted.

@6 there's a reason the games been in the charts for so long. The game is good but because its so accessible the developers had to cut some things out. The story is far from original and there's barely a character worth remembering. The game doesn't have nearly enough spells to make being a Mage while worthy and its faster to just cut them down with swords, which is another thing. RPGs should be more thought provoking them attack two blades and keep attacking. The master difficulty just makes enemies take longer to kill instead of throwing any real challenge in. The game loads you down with health potions and some perks can make early on monsters as strong as a mud crab later. There are no unique skyrim monsters. The dragons were made to be much more than they are, more annoying than frightening. As big and breath-taking the world is, it might as well be cut down because everyone is going to fast travel everywhere anyway. And the game can take forever because every NPC always seem to have a fucking quest. By the time I beat the game I had over 200 side quests and the majority were fetch quests.

Every game has its faults and I still like skyrim but its far from 100% quality. If you still play it that's great but I've grown off it.

@11 If you think that's what Skyrim is about... You're wrong.

When I play, I do quests, I explore, I create different potions and equips that I enchant, I roleplay (Archer only, only fur armor, no magic bow etc. or rather than going 'swords blazin'', I try to sneak past enemies) and so on.

And if you still really think that it's just about "HIT IT TILL IT DIES" try that out on Master difficulty. Or try it out on Legendary difficulty.

And if you still are ignoring me and think the game is "HIT IT TILL IT DIES" what about Bioshock: Infinite? Halo 4? CoD BO II? GoW:J? Aren't they just melee/shoot till it dies?

@10 yeah because FPS's of today are just like cod. Everyone will forget about them and just play the new one once it comes out. It's not like some of the greatest games of all time are FPSs, some of which a lot of people still play.

@17, at least someone here is logical about both games.

@18, It probably didn't match his expectations and that's why he doesn't like it as much. Or he's just a very negative person. Skyrim is an excellent game.

@19, I agree that Skyrim has been dumbed down when compared to earlier TES titles and even when compared to other RPG's, but that still doesn't make the game necessarily bad in terms of quality in any sense.

what's up with all the hate Skyrim is getting here, if this game was as bad as some people make it to be here it wouldn't be in the top 20 charts more than a year after it came out, obviously the devs did something good on this game, you're probably just jaleous your favourite game isn't selling as much I guess!

I'm still astonished that there are 2 LEGO games on the charts that've been there for a pretty impressive amount of time as well. Especially Batman 2...
