The Walking Dead Confirmed For UK Retail This May
Written By
View author's profile

Released in December 2012 in North America, The Walking Dead will finally be shambling to UK retail this May, bringing all five episodes on a disc for anyone yet to experience the seminal zombie yarn via the Xbox Live Arcade.

Avanquest Software will be handling distribution of the first season of Telltale Games' zombie saga for UK retail, with a release scheduled for May 10th.

You can read why we think The Walking Dead is a big fleshy lump of pure undead genius right here. If you haven't played it on XBLA yet, then pencil yourself in for the retail release. You won't regret it.

Totally worth every minute. There was only one con to the game, and that was the stuttering problem.

I loved this game. One of the best games I've played in a very long time. Will be pushing my bro to check it out.

@5, @6
It probably won't be, as it's just the arcade game on a disk, like all previous arcade game releases.

Looking on Amazon, the retail version of telltale's Walking Dead is £25.79 pre-order and doesn't seem to include the comics that the US version had.

When you consider that it has been on sale twice already for 800mps (~£6.50) its kind of a rip-off.

If you haven't played this yet then I highly recommend buying it. Next to Minecraft this is my favourite arcade game. Fantastic story that really makes you feel involved.

Although I bought them all at Christmas, I've only done two of the episodes so far (taking my time, enjoying them at a pace), I just feel that a May release is WAY too late for this. I hope it sells well, but I'd have my concerns. Great game so far though!

Bought all the episodes at the Christmas sale; truly one of the most special games I've ever played. I might buy the disc version simply to give Telltale money as buying all the episodes for 800 points feels like robbery.

would of been great if they added new achievements to the original the original 500 there is not really any skill to get them as they can't be missed when finishing the game

Actually, isn't that a rule of Microsoft's that all retail games have to have 1000 achievement points,or have i made that up?

Great game, got it on the cheap, best 800 msp I've spent so far.
The disc is going to set you back around 20 notes though.

over priced, but this is the way around it should be retail costing more than digital.

@16 - it's not a retail game though, it's just arcade games on a disc. So no, it shouldn't have 1000GS.

Any one is newcomers, want buy The Walking Dead retail disc or wait for price down for XBLA. Please buy this one. "DO NOT BUY THE WALKING DEAD: SURVIVAL INSTINCT" because this game is ugly, poor and bored. The Walking Dead is better then TWD: Survival Instinct.

Don't buy The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct

Support Telltale's Games. They did well done job on it with amazing story and endings. :)

Great game and story.
@16 no the rule is no game can have more than 1000 points and a max off 50 achievements with a max off 250 a quarter for DLC.

Total rip off I got ep 1 for free and every other ep 2,3,4,5 for the price of 1 so rip off if people people want a disk version I'd say wait around 2 and a half months it will go right cheap just look at hitman that's £10 preowned and @ 21 its up to them if they want to get either walking dead not you

@5 and 6 it's not it's just the arcade game on a disc so it's just a waste of your money if you already bought the digital version

I enjoyed both, the only issue with Survival instinct, is the depth perception, the walkers can hit you from about a meter away.

@25 You'd have waited for the retail release and paid around £20 over the price you probably paid in the sale or even £12 over the normal price? Why?

As for this, I don't see how they can charge so much (I understand there are costs for distributing and stuff but £12 per disk?). I bought all 5 episodes and played through them all multiple times, but anyone who is willing to pay the pre-order price on Amazon has more money than sense.
