This reminds me a lot of Silent Hill -games. And I did like those first Silent Hill -games.
I hope this games has a lot of jump scares, some horrifying creature following you, narrow, dark hallways and just some crazy enemies and places so I can shit my pants over and over again!

@2 It doesn't really say it's open world, right?
An immersive world can mean anything, or am I mistaken...

Not really; the main character is a cop so he had a weapon already. Also, the Tango Gameworks said they won't put it heavy weapons such as machine guns.
By the way, has anyone noticed that The Evil Within kinda says the same as Resident Evil?

I dunno, maybe it's me, but Project Zwei seemed like a more horror-y and interesting title than "The Evil Within"...

The creepy hallway at start looks like the hallway from resident evil 2 where first licker is.
After the video I expect the guy to say Resident Evil.
Looks awesome. Maybe a true survival horror. Next gen REAL horror. Gong to be great (I hope)

@8 Try Fatal Frame 2. It works on Xbox 360, I'm playing it now.
@7 I wouldn't say that. Look at horror games like Amnesia (certain mods with combat), Fatal Frame 2, Condemned, Silent Hill, The Suffering, and Resident Evil.
I think people want jump scares now over true horror, which really sucks.
The problem with horror games is the same as watching a horror movie. Once you've played or seen it, then you already know when the scary parts are going to happen or what to expect. The ones that stay horror every time you play or watch, are ones that could be happening in real life or in the near future. Such as all of the Resident Evil games (including 6). I usually have problems playing some of these newer horror games on PC that are loaded with jump scares because once you know when they will happen, it's not scary at all anymore.
The behind the scenes video of The Evil Within, kind of looked like Resident Evil 4 with a different story, characters, monsters, etc. As long as the controls are updated, I think that'd be a fun game to play.

@11 That's totally what I thought of.. I looked at the still of it and was like "oh a licker! I remember that hallway". The guy making the barbed wire reminds me of the actor that played Chris in the Resident Evil 1 opening and ending, too. Nothing wrong with either of those, cause RE1 and 2 were definitely survival horror (and 3).

@15 I remember playing the Resi remake when it came out, went into the hallway in the mansion that's above the room with type writer where Barry or wesker leave a note I think. And there was a crimson head, completely didn't expect it. Me and my mate bricked it, paused the game, heart pounding, took us 30 min to pluck up courage to unpause, we were only 13 or so at time and was like midnight but that's true horror.
My first memory of resi was not long after it came out my uncle got it and I was only about 6 or 7 but fell in love with it. The year after my parents bought me it even though I was way too young.
This isn't even a Resi game lol it just looks like how Resi in 2013 should look and is making me reminisce.
Can't wait :D

I would like a co-op mode too. BEFORE YOU ALL FLIP Not multiplayer deathmatch or some bs. But it's been fun for all these years playing games and having your friends watch on the weekends etc...but now we're all grown up. Let two buddies play together, get 8 guys all playing in one party, and all 8 of you relive all of the old screams together. Games don't have to be ruined by multiplayer, make an optional co-op campaign er something. Separate the players multiple times causing extreme anxiety etc. It could be done.

#14 That was the genius of Silent Hill 3, you played through the game once, tried another run, thought you saw everything, and then suddenly... some of the levels changed, the textures, music and whatnot. And there it was again, the same feeling of dread you felt on your first playthrough.
#19 Co-op for something like that, that's really a bad idea. Survival Horror lives from it's feeling of terror, something that just doesn't build up if you play with a friend, because guys usually try to play it cool, they speak about something else than the game, or make fun about it's bugs and whatnot.
Bethesda, Optional Co-op or MP? Don't even dare, focus on the Campaign and make this a game worth our 60 Euros!!
