A week or so ahead of the release of Star Trek: Into Darkness in cinemas, Star Trek: The Video Game is out this week, bringing Kirk and Spock together for a bout of co-op action.

Early word is that it doesn't exactly set anyone's phaser's to stun, but take a look at the launch trailer below to see if you fancy beaming it up.

Star Trek: The Video Game is out today in North America and on April 26th in Europe. Live long and prosper, or something.

  • Waiting for the reviews xD
  • I'm about to go hit the gym right now, like a REAL man, not put on pointy years and gimpy costumes talking shit about space aliens and crap. Lol try and be REAL men and hit the gym like i do and train yourselves in mma, you nerds are scrawny and weak for a reason. Become an ALPHA, not a BETA.
  • @3 don't forget your WeightGain4000 champ!
  • Sounds like Destroyer is trying to compensate for something. It's either that, or he fails to realize that there are many types of people that play video games, and has some kind of misplaced bully issues from grade school. But on topic, this trailer looks pretty solid, might wait till someone trades it in and buy it used.
  • Reminds of Mass Effect.... o.O
  • Actual footage of @2 http://i30.tinypic.com/2ia4lea.jpg
  • @5 Indeed it does.
  • @5 i think so to, hope its as good, or near
  • im about 6a hours into it, picked it up at midnight along with dead island. its pretty good so far. the co op stuff is a little gimmicky, always needing 2 people to hack or pry open a door, but not too bad. there have only been a few places where i felt that the game needed to be a bit more polished and you have to walk around with the tricorder out most of the time but the combat is pretty solid. wish there was a melee button. so far only one chapter where gou control enterprise and it was a bit unclear on what to do so i almost lost the ship, hopefully another one later. its obvious that more than one playthrough will be required to unlock all the upgrades, but thats ok. all in all id say give it a try.
  • @6 His body is not ripped at all and he has no muscle mass, Also he looks like a classic lager swiller, I am a ALPHA so i am in peak physical condition, not a lager swilling numbnut. You star trek geeks become an ALPHA like me and be REAL men.
  • Can we all agree that this game looks like crap? It should be a $10 XBLA game and not a $60 retail game.
  • @10 It's okay, man. Daddy can't hurt you anymore. You need to forgive him and get on with your life. Don't let the past dictate your future. Peace.
  • @10 and the 10 year with no life strikes again. I love how you call all geeks, expect us to care.........One more question if we are all so sad checking this page often then why are you here often? I'm pretty sure a kid who 'claims' to be a gym buff doesn't spend their entire days trolling unless they well have nothing better to do. Food for thought? ;)
  • @10 You Trane UFC Bro?
  • Love star trek. Not feeling this game at all. Got a funny feeling the reviews are going to be awful.
  • It doesn't look good at all, low res of the vid probably didn't help.
  • @2 - Your obviously a cunt. OT this looks like a surprisingly good game and looks like a good bit of fun
  • input this URL: ( http://www.buy2me.us/ ) you can find many cheap and high stuff Believe you will love it. WE ACCEPT CREDIT CARD /WESTERN UNION PAYMENT YOU MUST NOT MISS IT!!!
  • In the old series, The Gorn were a primitve kind of humanoid reptiles and living only on one planet, like animals. No way they could build spaceships with these claws and minor intelligence. Can't make a game with Human opponents bc it would be too violent and have a too high age rating? Ok, but why not the Borg, or the Romulans? I see the follow-up to this game: Star Trek: Revenge of the Tribbles
  • @2 All I want to know is..............."what are pointy years"?
  • @2 you have to give him credit for thinking up a long sentence rather than the short comments trolls usually do. Also really had me laughing cause can just imagine him as a WOW fatboy living in basement loool
  • @19 The gorn in the 60's original episode did indeed have a ship. The 2 ships captains were placed on the planet to fight. Also, they couldn't use the Borg as there weren't properly discovered until the next generation era. Yes, I'm a nerd! Or as comment 2 would say, a BETA!
  • anyone else think HumanDestroyer sounds kinda like like Brucie Kibbutz from GTA IV ya know that was shootin' shark spunk steroids where the sun don't shine. At one point he was putting moves on Niko, but then realized there was other people in the room so he went all homophobic. Also more avid trek fans can correct me if I am wrong but are we all ALPHAs SOL the system in which we live in is located in the ALPHA quadrant. anyways cheers!
  • @22 your mistaken, the Borg were known to pre-date before the federation was founded in 'enterprise' from the scattered remains across time from 'first contact'.
  • I have been really looking forward to this game for a while but the lack of any review is becoming a concern. In my experience, games which don't get a review before release day or upon release day tend not to be vey good games. Namco/Bandaiare probably delaying releasing review copies trying to protect pre-orders from being cancelled. Hope I'm wrong.
  • where's the review guys?
  • @2 I can see you going on twitter and tweeting “I don't know how to turn my xbox on for the star trek game arhhhh lifting weights is the only thing I am good at #iamagenuis”...but on a serious note just don't comment on it, if you don't like it don't be on this website, I think most people will laugh at it like me and just take the piss....but let's talk about a subject that's worth talking about, the game I think will be good becuase they did put loads of money behind this game but going to wait for the review too
