Based on these new screenshots from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance's upcoming Blade Wolf DLC, we're in for another story-driven add-on in which you play as one of the game's antagonists this May, following in the footsteps of the recent Jetstream DLC, in which you took up the red katana of Sam.

This time it appears that you'll assume the role of the LQ-81i Blade Wolf, who Raiden faces during the opening moments of the full game. Whether it's the exact same one, we don't know, but he's sporting the Desperado logo on his steel hide, so he's clearly a bad guy. And he hangs out with Mistral, Revengeance's scary multi-limbed boss.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be getting the Blade Wolf DLC on May 9th. You can take a look at it in the gallery with 14 screenshots, some of which we've pasted below for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

I'd be rather surprised if it wasn't the same one.

I'm quite confused by this character. Is the Blade Wolf you fight at the beginning of the game the same Wolf who accompanies you later in the game?

I always assumed it was.

Anyway, this wacky idea for an add-on actually looks quite good.

The Blade Wolf that accompanied Raiden was all black so I'm pretty sure this is the enemy Wolf.

It's kinda odd that you play as Blade Wolf that is a bad guy and still fight bad guys???

@3: Yes, Wolf is the same AI you fight in the beginning. Raiden mentions it in the beginning of the next level when he says Doktor fixed Wolf and made enhancements. Further confirmed by Wolf's conversation with Sam, whom he knew before Raiden.

I havent picked up Sam yet, but as soon as Wolf hits, I plan to get them both and have some fun slashing cyborgs to bits.

Yeah, it is a bit confusing, but he's the same wolf. Talking to him via codec helps you understand that, also when he speaks about Sam and things like that. :)
