With NFL legend Barry Sanders (not Larry Sanders. That wouldn't work) making the cover for Madden NFL 25 (Madden NFL 14 in all but name), EA Sports has released the first batch of screens and a 'Run Free' playbook gameplay trailer from the latest American Football iteration, that'll be celebrating the franchise's 25th year.
Cover star Sanders won the poll to feature on Madden NFL 25's box with 58% of the 40 million votes cast. In other non-cover related Madden news, this year's version promises more back-of-the-box features, with a new precision modifier that enables players to unleash 30 new moves and "string together devastating combos." Wait, is this a fighting game?
The Infinity Engine introduced last year has been polished and introduces an all-new Force Impact system, while there's more overall improvements with hard run cutting for quick changes in direction, improved run blocking and more. EA calls it Infinity Engine 2. Wow.
Madden NFL 25 is scheduled to launch on August 27th. You can check out all 14 new screenshots in the gallery, some of which we've pasted below. You can also watch the 'Run Free' playbook gameplay video below for a closer look at all the gridiron action. Hut! Hut! And so on.
