Title Update Corrupting Some Dragon's Dogma and Dark Arisen Save Files

The latest patch for Dragon’s Dogma and Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen is corrupting saves. The issue, a massive kick in the balls for those that have invested hours and hours into the action RPG, means that the game will no longer save or load progress, for some players.

Capcom has addressed the problem in post over at Capcom Unity, suggesting that players copy their existing save data to an external storage device or the cloud, especially those who are playing the game for the first time in a while or are playing Dark Arisen for the first time.

“If you experience repeated issues with your save data becoming corrupt, please try playing the game offline while we investigate the issue,” adds Capcom. “We’re exploring the issue currently and hope to have a solution as quickly as possible. Many apologies for the inconvenience.”

Having heard many stories of how some gamers have spent 100's of hours playing this whilst lurking forums, whilst I wait for my copy of Dark Arisen to arrive, as was said in the main article - what a massive blow to the balls if this were to happen to someone, especially those mentioned.

Here's hoping Capcom gets a fix quickly.

I want my copy, dammit Amazon! :P

Ive played about 10 hours since transferring my save and its been fine so far so I wonder whay causes this. Ona game like this where it takes a lot of grinding to get rare equipment I really hope it doesnt hit too many people.

not playing it a while or just dislikin`me?

Whatever, gameplay looks awesome and Dragons Dogma is still a great game with some small bugs and failures but the "Whole Package" is pretty cool!
I think i try my DA Copy on weekend! Maybe capcom has fixed this "problem"!

I actually had my file corrupt in the original DD during a world boss dragon and after losing all my equipment I grinded days to get I had to start over. It was a horrible feeling to have to play all of that all over and I feel for the people who have been corrupted. Hopefully they fix it ASAP

Its like Gears 3 all over again ( more specifically seriously 3.0). Losing a save with well over a thousand hours is soul crushing. No matter the time you've invested in this game, any data loss hurts. You better believe I'll backup my data for this game when I get to it.

Luckily I got into the habit of always backing up my saves to a flash drive for every game every so often, or each new benchmark. After glitchy games like Elder Scrools and Borderlands 2, you learn your lesson of not wanting to waste my time. It's also a very good safe way to duplicate items for friends in any game with loots an an online component.

Just another reason why 'online only' will be a bad idea in the future.
