Guardians of Middle-earth has today garnered itself another playable guardian, with the good-aligned Elrond of Rivendell. A half-elven tactician, you may remember Elrond as the pointy-eared fella played by Hugo Weaving in the Lord of the Rings movies.

With Elrond now available to download, Warner Bros. and Monolith have released a new trailer showing the half-elven tactician in action, demonstrating his sword swinging skills and defensive spells.

Check out the video below. Elrond the Half-Elven is available to download for Guardians of Middle-earth now for 160 Microsoft Points. You can add him to your download queue here.

Elrond's father, Eärendil, was born of Tuor (a human ancestor of the Númenor) and Idril (an Elven princess).
His mother's side is a little more complicated. Elwing is the daughter of Nimloth (an Elven princess) and Dior Eluchíl, who is half man, part Maia, and part elven.
So that makes Elrond 53.125% elven, 43.75% man, and 3.125% Maia, if I remember the Silmarillion correctly.

@6 thank you sir! I love LoTR, had no idea Elrond was part human. Thought it was Aragorn that was half and half ... I wonder if theres anything in the appendices that discusses Beorn's family history of beastiality!
