Splinter Cell Blacklist's Spies vs. Mercs Mode Trailered

Ubisoft has fully unveiled Splinter Cell Blacklist’s Spies vs. Mercs mode.

A fan favourite, Spies vs. Mercs sees two teams of four battle it out over terminals. The Spies - skilled in stealth and sneakiness - have to hack the terminals, while the Mercs - powerful and armoured -  have to defend them.

It’s a welcome, albeit  adjusted, return after the mode skipped the last entry in the series, Splinter Cell: Conviction. Get the essential details in the vid below. Splinter Cell: Blacklist is out in North America on 20th August and Europe on 22nd August.

Don't think it'll do much for me, but the premise at least sounds more interesting than the usual MP shenanigans in most games. That being said, definitely looking forward to playing the campaign.

It's pretty much the same thing as Double Agent's Multiplayer, Which I wish I would have played more of.

@5 traditionally spies = 3rd person mercs = 1st person. that what they did in Pandora tommorrow, chaos theory and double agent all of which were pretty fun online

Just bring the Splinter Cell Trilogy to the 360 already! The PS3 has had it long enough!

I'm so ready to play Spies vs Mercs again. It's always been a great multiplayer game.

Spies vs Mercs was the best in Pandora Tomorrow. Chaos Theory may have been the better overall game, but the multiplayer maps were more or less forgettable and the added/deducted gameplay elements were not for the best. Double Agent's multiplayer was even worse.

Blacklist looks more like a return to the Pandora days, which is fantastic!

Tomb Raider, Assassins Creed and now this... something different for multiplayer that isn't shooting for sports.

Probably one of my favorite series to play the multiplayer of. I have far more memories of playing player created gametypes than the actual objective based multiplayer, though. I seem to recall playing a lot of something called "tag" back in the day.

System linking Pandora Tomorrow and especially Chaos Theory is still the most fun I've had playing video games.

I'm pretty excited for this, I just really hope they pull it off.
