EA has ever-so-slightly lifted the lid on its upcoming slate of games due out this fiscal year, and it includes new releases from BioWare and DICE, as well as the return of the Need for Speed and NBA Live Franchises.
That’s according to the publisher’s Investor’s Call which took place overnight.
“Fiscal 2014” runs from April 1st 2013 to March 31st, 2014 and will include releases like Madden, FIFA, FIFA Manager, NHL, and NCAA Football, as well as Battlefield and Fuse.
More noteworthy is that new DICE and BioWare games will be revealed by the publisher at E3 this year, both of which will run on EA’s Frostbite 3.0 engine. No official word has come as to what these titles will be, but in BioWare's case Dragon Age 3 is a strong bet.
As for the DICE title, it's unsure whether EA is refering to Battlefield 4. However EA Labels president Frank Gibeau did specifically say that "We plan to unveil new titles from DICE" at E3. Battlefield 4 has already been unveiled, so come to your own conclusions as to what that means.
DICE, BioWare and Visceral have been tipped to be developing future Star Wars titles, the license to which EA picked up recently. However, EA Labels president Frank Gibeau has confirmed that no games based on George Lucas’ creations will be released during fiscal 2014.
In addition to all this, EA has also listed NBA Live for a fiscal 2014 release. Should the game actually come out it will mark the return to a sport that has caused the publisher numerous problems in recent years, with a couple of high-profile cancellations.
It has been confirmed, however, Tiger Woods PGA Tour will skip a year. The license for the FIFA games, meanwhile, has been extended to 2022.
