Techland has revealed the first bit of gameplay from its Project Hell, which was given a proper name with its official announcement last week. Hellraid is the studio's new first-person co-op hack and slasher, in which you can wield spells and various weapons against demons and undead.

You'll fight for points, rewards and fame as you battle hell's army and your fellow adventurers, all while questing through Hellraid's fantastical hellish environments. You'll also be able to craft weapons, customise your armour and upgrade your character.

Take a look at the new Hellraid gameplay teaser below to catch your first glimpse of Techland's latest game in action. Hellraid is scheduled to launch later in the year.

Am I the only person that actually enjoyed both Dead Island games, glitches and all? This will be a Day 1 purchase for me!

@7 Not at all! My friend and I absolutely love both games and have been lucky glitch-wise and only got the audio glitch a few times and the easily fixable freezing glitch. Couldn't care less about the glitches, and I have no idea why people hate the game in general.

OT - I will be getting this day one, no questions.

Hellraid? Fuck yeah!!!

Dead Island and Riptide are two games that offer a unique component that a lot of gamers and game developers often forget about. This mystical component I refer to? FUN. Dead island was a shit load of fun, Riptide has so far been a tonne of fun and I doubt that's going to change in the last 30% of the game.

I feel for anyone who has missed out on Dead Island due to game breaking glitches.

Hellraid? Pre-ordered!!!

Loved both Dead Islands. Never encountered any glitches in the first one, I had a couple achievements glitch on me in the second game, but I enjoyed playing the game that it didn't bother me. Really looking forward to this and I'm happy to hear it will release this year.

I wonder who the publisher will be.

As much as I enjoyed Dead Island 1 and 2, those ghouls have the same exact flailing and body movements the zombies have in Dead Island...that's kinda upsetting.
