Road Redemption Kickstarter Reaches Stretch Goal for Xbox 360 Version

Billed as a spiritual successor to Road Rash, developer Dark Seas Games has managed to surpass its $160,000 target to create Road Redemption via Kickstarter, generating $173,803, just under $5000 shy of the stretch goal for the Xbox Live Arcade version of the game.

However, with some backers unable to make Amazon payments via the Kickstarter campaign, Dark Seas has opened up the option to back the game through PayPal. Taking into account the PayPal contributions made towards the development of Road Redemption, the total currently stands at $182,791, meaning the XBLA version is now on the cards.

If you missed out on pledging to the Kickstarter campaign for Road Redemption, you can still contribute with PayPal and get the rewards that had been on offer as part of the Kickstarter. Road Redemption is aiming for a 2014 release on the Xbox Live Arcade.

I loved the originals, but I couldn't bring myself to back this. I feel that there is a very slim chance it will turn out well. I hope im wrong though.

That seems an incredibly small amount of money to make a PC/Xbox game on...

That's surprising, most have gotten a big donation from someone who wants this game really really bad. Or maybe people just felt bad and gave money to the cause. No one will ever know. But lets hope for the fans of this series that they get something worth playing. I would hate to see all this money invested into something that isn't any good.

'If you missed out on pledging to the Kickstarter campaign for Road Redemption, you can still contribute with PayPal and get the rewards that had been on offer as part of the Kickstarter'

Can anyone tell me what these rewards are, or point me in the direction of where to find the details? Thanks

@10 just search for their kickstarter page the rewards are down the right hand side of it, they vary from free copies to exclusive ingame items to dinner with the devs and being in the game as characters

@11 money from kickstarters is only released to do wheat the kickstarters for and if its not done the money is returned to the people that pledged it

I backed it, for $17 you can get a PC and 360 or Wii U copy which is a great deal considering it might be 1200 MS points when it is released just for the 360 version.

I hope this means it will also be downloadable on the next gen consoles. I hate it when there are last gen exclusives and I have to dig out an old console just to play something that is behind in the times.

Can't wait for this either way.

I also am in the opinion of if you back a game like this you should become a shareholder of that product and maybe gain some profit. Or at least get the game for free or at a discounted price

@15 i think we will be hearing on the 21st that arcade titles at least will be backwards compatible n the next box, i say this because this game the devs were adamant that they werent going to release on the 60 until they knew what was going on with it and then close to the reveal they decide to go for it and add it as a stretch goal, seems like they got the information they wanted
