Like an evolving, mutating virus, the Resident Evil series has been through more than a few changes during its long and storied history. Growing from the fixed camera angles and static environments of the first games, to lightgun spin-offs and the over-the-shoulder shooter game we know and recognise today, it's come a long way in its more than 15 years.

Critically acclaimed upon its original release last year, can Revelations still provide some solid scares? Has Resident Evil really returned to its roots?
