Resident Evil: Revelations
In Stores This Week Around the World

This week it’s all about Resident Evil: Revelations, Capcom’s Nintendo 3DS remake for consoles that don’t give you a headache.

It’s rather good too, according to Rich. In our review he called it “a Resident Evil game for fans of Resident Evil games,” which considering the franchise’s recent poor treatment is high praise indeed. Read the full review here.

Elsewhere: Not a lot. Unless you count Fast & Furious: Showdown which you totally shouldn’t.

Resident Evil for me, the review makes it sound pretty awesome and old school, unfortunately never had the chance to play it on the 3DS.

Let's hope RE:R sells rather well, so that maybe Capcom will see that they don't need to churn shit like RE6 and RE:ORC out to make money.

I'd like to see renewed interest in the survival horror genre, so that perhaps one day we'll see Clock Tower 4.

I'll probably rent Resident Evil. I really enjoyed the Demo more than I was expecting. I'd heard good things & it didn't disappoint. I love the Genesis Scanner. Nice addition.

@4 - Wow, didn't mean to offend. You may have enjoyed the last 2 Resident Evil games, but the fact of the matter is they were not good Resident Evil games. The fans and reviews have made that very common knowledge, and Capcom have not hid behind the fact they want to go that route with Resident Evil, as the interest is in action and set pieces rather than shocks and scares.

Clock Tower (to carry on with my response to my comment) was a scary game, especially Clock Tower 3. That's the kind of horror game that I miss, where you feared the enemy just turning up to ruin your day.

@4, I don't think people know how to read O.o though I agree with you, a step back to what made survival horror good would be nice.

@11, re-read his comment, he didn't like the last couple of games.

I hope that Capcom do at least put out games for the survival horror market, but I have little hope in the company, with how they've messed around mega man fans, resi evil fans, and generally milked street fighter to death over the years... I have little hope that they'll make a decision that'll actually help the series.
Lets sit, and wait and see if they take Revelation's as a new direction, or stay with the pathetic action game that was RE6, I still laugh at some of what was in that game...

@9 Looking at it that way makes it a whole lot easier to deal with :) SO EXCITED!

@13 He was quoting himself, I imagine to try to make the people whom disliked his comment understand why he said it in the first place :p

Not a massive fan of the Survival horror genre, but I'll be picking it up to help rekindle the genre for the fans of it.

@#4

I totally understand, I didn't much care for re5 or 6, I did however like Operation raccoon city. I've never played clock tower, but I feel games need to be scary again.
