Metro: Last Light DLC, Season Pass Detailed

Deep Silver has announced its DLC plans for 4A Games’ recently released shooter, Metro: Last Light.

There are four new content packs heading our way over the next few weeks and months, all built to expand on the game’s single-player campaign. They’re called the Faction Pack, the Chronicles Pack, the Tower Pack and the Developer Pack, and they’re detailed in Deep Silver’s own words below.

  • The ‘Faction Pack’ and the ‘Chronicles Pack’ will include new, original single player gameplay that expands on the Metro: Last Light universe and story
  • The ‘Tower Pack’ will present a unique solo challenge to Metro veterans
  • Meanwhile, the ‘Developer Pack’ will give creative players some interesting tools with which to explore the world of Metro…

“Artyom’s story may have been concluded in Metro: Last Light, but there are other characters with stories to tell, some familiar locations that fans of the Metro series wanted to revisit, and some new challenges that 4A wanted to explore,” said 4A Games’ creative director Andrew “Prof” Prokhorov.

“Since completing the game we have been working on these new stories and hope to release them throughout the summer.”

Presumably these packs will be available to purchase separately, but Deep Silver has yet to share pricing details. They have, however, revealed info on the game’s Season Pass, which is available now, costs 1200 MSP and entitles you to all four packs, the first of which is launching next month.

Buy it, 4A Games could do with a break.

@#6 I'm not sure if you have seen but Last Light has 30 missions.... That's hardly refusing to make extra.

Umm, no. Trading it in after only a few days. This is what happens when you try to rip people off with DLC, after selling them an unfinished product with endless glitches and achievements not unlocking. You deserve the bad rep you get. I think developers and publishers need a reputation system like Ebay/Amazon to show people what they're really like. A system like that prevents scammers from being successful due to bad rep and lets the honest people flourish.

@7 (Why can't this site just implement a reply button?)

Anyway, those extra missions just made the story drag on. It started to get repetitive. All the missions kept following the same pattern: Fight humans, fight mutants, then walk around and get knocked out. Wake up somewhere different and it repeats.

1200 for 4 content packs feels quite reasonable for a season pass. It's not a huge investment lost if it ends up being terrible, yet I still feel like I'm getting a solid deal by purchasing upfront.

Aside from getting screwed out of a few achievements, having my game bug up and freeze a few times, and a mediocre ending, I enjoyed myself with the game. If some achievements are attached, I may buy one of these DLC packs.

Will probably purchase the season pass at the beginning of the month. The game is amazing. Especially considering what 4A went through during the development process. 4 DLC's for $15 isn't bad at all. Any expansion of story in the Metro universe is welcome for me.

this is way better than what the likes of Gears, Bioshock, Cod, Battlefield, and as always Capcom does everyday. at the very least its better because 1. its not disc locked conetent and 2. it doesnt give you an advantage over other players(Infinite,Gears)3. sure there are some glitches but all games have them 4. they gave us a full game on disc not a half a game not a 2 hr campaign explored three times by diffirent characters.
yes its a shame that the ranger mode hasnt been patched in yet but im sure itll be patched soon.

DLCs have been around for ages, also in PC gaming, they have been called "Add-ons".

Don't know what the fuss is all about:
Enjoyed the game, want more? ->great, you can buy DLCs

Didn't enjoy the game?-> No one is forcing you to more content if you don't want to

@ 13 i see what you are saying but i think that whole argument about what they went through takes away from the talent thats there. my mening is we dont want that to eventually get around then everybody is saying " sure metro is good because they went through so much to make it" instead of thats its a great game on its own merits.

@7... that's not my point... The studio refused to make extra missions for the game, when they where questioned for alternative's to the pre-order dlc, and now we find out that they're making loads of them... the hell...

There is the question weather these will be any good anyway, plus how quickly they're being put out, doesn't seem promising, just a month after release :/ dlc is taken advantage of so much now, without the content actually being worth what it's sold for. Gone are the days of building up hype for dlc.

#18 Yeah Square Enix said there will be no single-player campaign DLC and new achievements for Tomb Raider so now Deep Silver did same to Metro: Last Light.

I think they want save money for next sequel. :)

I have no qualms with this DLC, but some of the earlier comments make me wonder what gaming'll be like to get the full of a game when the Xbox One hits... Capcom's wet dream, it feels like.

@15 they were called expansions, and with good reason. Things like these would often be offered as patches or add-on content for loyal customers.

Most of the time these DLC's on the PC are quite lacking and often feel like content that should of been included on disc but was cut out for possible profits.(ex. Batman Arkham City challenge packs/skins)

DLC and season passes are definitely a trend I want to see die. Sadly it will only get worse. Not every game needs DLC and certainly not enough to need a season pass.

Developers nowadays know they can hold out certain parts of a game or stuff they planned on putting in and they can charge extra for it later. I still can't excuse that they are charging 400msp for a difficulty! That is unacceptable. I didn't preorder the game and I'm certainly not going to pay $5 for a hard mode. If they couldn't add it in at launch for whatever reason, then it should be a free download for anybody that wants it. It's basically if Call of Duty came out and you had to pay extra if you wanted to play on veteran.

I liked this game, so i'll probley keep it long enough just to see the DLC come out, most of the time i'm bored of playing it before even the first DLC on the season pass comes out

1200MSP for 4 packs? The game was great and I enjoyed it, so why not?

I´m just gonna wait for reviews of the very first DLC and see if it includes achievements, if it does - you got another season pass buyer 4A!
