UFO Interactive Games has dated Scourge: Outbreak, its XBLA shooter, for release on July 3rd.

Described as a “raw and gritty, futuristic squad-based third-person shooter,” Scourge: Outbreak is an overhauled version of the 2010 PC titles The Scourge Project: Episodes 1 & 2, rebuilt from the ground up.

Never heard of built with The Scourge Project? Me either, so here’s a breakdown of what to expect, in UFO’s own words.

  • Up to 4-Player Co-op Campaign with 6+ hours of gameplay
  • 4 Playable Characters, each with different weapon handling stats and a distinct combination of Special Abilities
  • Unique character-specific flashbacks that reveal critical past events, and shed a new light on the game's story
  • XP system to track your experience and unlock powerful gameplay rewards in Campaign AND Multiplayer
  • Squad AI for groups with less than 4 Players
  • Quick-Order-System (QOS) for rapid deployment of squad-members

  • Cant wait to play this on my Xbox One!
  • For 800 this game actually seems like a good buy.
  • Maybe I'll pick this up, but I won't get around to playing it until I trade in my 360 for my Xbox One. Oh wait...
  • Not gonna buy it on the 360, whats the point? It won't be B/C...
  • @4 Same as how i feel.
  • Referring to the PC games as horrible is an overstatement. Really hope this rebuild is totally different.
  • @4 Since XBone is terribad from what we know you might as well get it on 360.
  • Ok yeah the Xbox One isn't backwards compatible. I assume everyone here owns a 360 yeah? Then keep it. It would be nice if it was but it's better that it's not. If it were backwards compatible the console would be bigger or the dedication of the components to running Xbox one games and apps would be split leading to a slower clunkier less powerful and most importantly MORE EXPENSIVE console. The money you hope to save by trading your console in probably wouldn't cover the cost increase anyway. Remember the PS3 it failed at the start cause it was too expensive removing many of these features including backwards compatibility brought the price down leading to more sales which is good news all round.
  • Only arcade game I'm interested in is State of Decay, and that'll probably be 1600, so I'll be saving my points.
  • After the recent announcements I find it hard to purchase another xbla game, the clock is ticking for these games, at some point the plug will be pulled and teh games are gone forever.
  • Is it really that hard and expensive to run a bit of emulation to play xbla games? Killing it all off seems a bit over kill imo.
  • *yawn* another lame shooter. plus why waste money on xbla games until we find out for sure if they transfer over to the Xbox One?
  • @12 They don't. No game purchases of any kind do.
  • It's not backwards compat because M$ are using a custom chip, rather than a mainstream one, like Sony did with the PS3.
  • @4 To play an experience the game. At least that's why I buy games.
  • Keep my 360? It won't last forever, and I'm sure will be discontinued at some point. However my games will last forever but will be useless to me in the end. No, I'm finished spending anymore money on Xbox 360 products. It's simply dumb.
