MCM 2013: Mass Effect's Commander Shepard Visits His Favourite Website on the Internet

Did you know we're Commander Shepard's favourite website on the internet? No, neither did we, but we're gonna try and make him say it up on the main games stage at MCM for everyone to hear, as Mark Meer AKA the voice of the male Commander Shepard, joins us to chat about his defining role as the first human Spectre and saviour of the galaxy.

A go-to guy for BioWare, Mark Meer's voice-over work has also included various parts in the studio's other franchises like Dragon Age, Jade Empire, Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate. But it's Meer's vocal talents that have ensured Commander Shepard remains an enduring and iconic video game character.

As if the promise of finding out more about Mass Effect and Shepard from Meer himself wasn't enough, you'll want to watch the live stream to see if Dan can stop himself having a nerdgasm in the presence of his hero. That's got to be worth watching, surely?

We've got both Shepard and Kaidan Alenko on stage! We're starting in a minute or two.

You're aware the first 14 mins 30 secs of the video are nothing but title screen?

@#8 - I enjoyed Mass Effect 2 and 3 but #7 is right, well half right. They didn't ruin it, They just made it worse. They took out all the RPG elements in the second game, made it more linear, the second game had hardly any side quests and they made it a lot more shooter focused. Mass Effect 2 and 3 are Third person shooters masquerading as RPG's. I hate how everyone loves the Second game, even though it's just a shittier version of the first one.

It's similar to Dragon Age. First game was a great RPG, the Second one though? Just a shit hack n slash masquerading as an RPG. The same way Mass Effect 1 is to Mass Effect 2, except for some reason, everyone loved Mass Effect 2 lol. I don't understand it, It's just a shooter with dialogue. The First is and always will be the best because it actually plays like a classic BioWare RPG before EA grabbed them by the balls and made them start making shit action games to cater to the lowest common denominator.

PLEASE READ:

i met with mark at comicon on saturday and got him to sign some of my stuff, we had a brief chat about mass effect and his new web series hes currently in. i aslo quizzed him at a small Q&A session about his improve acting during the mass effect series and his insights were very intersting.
whats more intersting is that he is actually a "geek" himself, he grew up playing D&D and various games before getting into the acting game and becoming a trained improv actor which helped him get into his first voice acting job on baldurs gate who he begged his friend who worked on the game to get him a contact so he could get an interview with. he loves his comic books and bits of sci-fi classics.

he was a real gentleman through out the whole day at comicon and i just want to wish him a public thankyou of appreciation, he really did his bit for the fans who turned out in number.

Mark Meer you sir are a videogame legend and we love you.

Interested. I loved Mass Effect series and love how well follow story and personals of characters and throughout exciting missions and exploring around. So I really want Mass Effect returns next year and either spin-off as long as it is same as main series or Mass Effect 4. Also BioWare, could you bring RPG elements bit more this time and near like ME 1. :)
