The Evil Within
The Evil Within Screens Are Dark, Feature Exploding Heads

Bethesda and Tango Gameworks have released new screens from Shinji Mikami's upcoming horror title, The Evil Within, and they're almost impenetrably dark. They also indicate that the game is sure to deliver on its horrific premise, with blood caking the walls in each image.

Having Mikami-san, the godfather of survival horror and creator returning to the genre ought to be something of a big deal, and if these shots offer a glimpse of what's to come, we may well be in for a bit of a pitch black, gore-filled treat.

There's even an exploding head. That's a tick in the box right there. The Evil Within is coming to current and next-gen consoles, and you can read our preview in the a few days' time.

This is really looking like a great Cross between Resident Evil and Silent Hill. It's looking good, Hasn't bee a good horror game since Dead Space 1+2 (3 wasn't scary) IMO. And before them i don't really remember the last game i found Scary.

This game looks very promising we need a revival in the genre and who better to do it than the gory godfather himself... Day 1 buy for me on Xbox one that is...

I don't think I've ever anticipated any other game more than this one. Everything this guy touches is gold and I have no reason to not be optimistic about this game.

I think comment #3 actually meant if it was next gen only rather than releasing on both 360/One. At least that's how I read it.

this looks and sounds fantastic! Haven't played a good horror game since condemned! ...i know I'll get flamed for this but I didn't rate dead space at all, just felt like a TPS with generic scares, clunky controls and backtracking through the same areas all the time. I prefer things that are totally fucked up and come from a psychotic imagination rather than peekaboo scares with loud noises. Plus I love the idea of being tricked and disoriented by the environment changing and 'hearing voices', can't wait for this game!!
