Fans? Or.. drones?
Seriously, if you pay for this sort of stuff, then, there really is no hope for the next generation of gaming!

@1 as much as there is a giant hate cloud for cod, people who moan about it tend to buy it every year.
So it's probably (ironically) those exact people!

@4 He didn't mention anything about CoD. This sort of stuff, I assume he meant, is paying $2 for a skin. Almost as bad as buying colors for Capcom fighters.
"Oh but it's only two bucks," first off, stupid is stupid; second, this kind of stupid crap will only rise in price along with all other DLC.

Aren't you yourself a "drone" since you have extensively played Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4, World at War, Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, Modern Warfare 3, and Black Ops II?

I don't see a problem with this. If you enjoy the game and want more customization, this is a good thing. These two camos actually look pretty cool too.

It's simple: don't want to buy it, don't. I have no problem with them adding these. At least it's an option if you wanna pay the extra $2.

@6, #5 elaborated on my point really. I was at work when I commented so I just wanted to be blunt about it.
The point is that this model paves the way for more and more micro-transactions in the future. Things that SHOULD BE READILY AVAILABLE IN THE GAME.
When I say readily available, I don't necessarily mean by default, but perhaps via in-game challenge completion etc.
You should not have to pay real-world money for shit like this! Even more so when it's stuff that is already on disc or in the game-code (as the PC players usually end up telling us).
Over time we'll end up with more and more things being locked with less and less content available from day 1!
If this model proves to generate these greedy companies with decent revenues, then, there's no saying where it would end. It's only going to get worse.
Furthermore, as #5 mentions, I didn't actually mention Call of Duty in my post. You are quite right in that I've played & purchased every CoD since 4, but, purchasing micro-transactions is a completely different ball game.
The naive gamers are not actually aware of the effect it will have on the industry (or may have over the coming years as we go into the next-generation) as companies like EA and Activison calculate new methods to milk money from the gamers whilst making it seem like they care.

I actually love CoD, but I hate Treyarch. I feel like they make subpar products. And even though I'm actually satisfied with Black Ops 2, I still dislike Treyarch, and I don't put it past them to make some dumb mistakes. This pack is a dumb mistake.
Let me ask you something; somebody voted for each and every skin that was showcased. Why on God's green fucking Earth would they choose two packs and put those online? To make fans feel involved? Why didn't you just put all four online and not involve a vote? There'd be more money involved that way. You know there's people out there that would buy every single one, so what the hell?
Treyarch didn't give a shit about our level of involvement when they ran the clan ops system into the ground, so why do you care now?
