Ubisoft has released a new Splinter Cell: Blacklist trailer on the back of its E3 press conference.

“A group of terrorists calling themselves The Engineers have had enough of US military occupation all over the world and initiate a terror ultimatum called the Blacklist - a deadly countdown of escalating attacks on U.S. interests,” says the blurb.

“When our nation is threatened, the president turns to one man and one man only: Sam Fisher. Armed with state-of-the-art technology, top-of-the-line-gadgets, deadly combat abilities and an elite team of experts, Sam Fisher holds nothing back to get the job done through whatever means necessary.”

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is out in North America on 20th August and Europe on 22nd August.

Never really saw Sam Fisher as an 'iconic' character, same if it happened to Gabe Logan from Siphon Filter. He's just a dude in a thing I like. I'm okay with the voice change, new guy sounds like your typical action type, it's not too jarring a change.

@1 No he doesn't! It's kinda of a bummer that ironside isn't voicing SF. I kinda wanted to see this on the XB1! Imagine That! This will prolly be the last X360 game I purchase.

@5, I doubt I will. Saving up for the Xbone, and I'm still shocked that they spent all these years on GTA V, and they're releasing it so close to next-gen consoles, yet not releasing it with them. Why? I don't get it at all.

There must be a reason to it why Michael Ironside quit. I'm not so sure about this game yet.

I kinda like the voice tbh. No it's not Ironside but I think it will suit Sam.

@8 - So they can get the last drips of milk from the 360 cow! I know a few guys who are gonna pick up a 360 for this game as they have no interest in other shit.

This splinter cell looks good, but I loved conviction with the Taken style to it. Looks more international and fresh and I'm sure it will be good, but It does sound strange with no Ironhide tbh. I know it's not just me.
