Microsoft - Europe is New Priority

In an interview with Bloomberg, Aaron Greenburg, Microsoft's Group Product Manager for Xbox 360 consoles, stated that Europe is now a top priority. The 360 has failed to make a sufficient impact in Japan and the year head start it had over its rivals is now long gone. The console in that region is being out sold by both PS3 (3 to 1) and Wii (an incredible 8 to 1) and now Microsoft have decided to try and focus on the European gamers, a market that was worth $7.8 billion last year. Greenburg is quoted as saying...
"The No. 1 objective is to win on a global basis and that may mean winning some markets and losing others. Europe is our priority focus right now."
Have Microsoft given up on trying to crack the second largest gaming region? That is unlikely given the sheer size of it. But they certainly will try and get a tighter grip on Europe to compensate for their lack of success in the Far East.
