Scourge: Outbreak has hit the Xbox Live Arcade today, bringing with it some sci-fi flavoured squad-based third-person shooter action with a gritty, futuristic edge. The Unreal Engine 3 shooter has you playing as the veteran mercs of Echo Squad battling their enemies, the Nogari Corporation, in a mission to rescue a double agent from behind enemy lines.

You'll also have to recover a mysterious meteorite fragment from the Nogari, while discovering the truth behind their 'Ambrosia Fuel Technology' and whether it's causing deadly plagues. During the 6+ hour campaign, which features 4-player co-op with four distinct characters, Echo Squad must bring the Nogari Corporation to its knees.

Scourge: Outbreak also has 8-player competitive multiplayer modes including Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and CTF, with nine weapons and numerous variants, and five close-quarters maps. Scourge: Outbreak is available to download from XBLA now for 800 Microsoft Points. Check out the new co-op trailer and screens below.

  • I hate to say it. But it looks like nothing I haven't played before.
  • Loving the COG uniforms in the 2nd picture. With the ultimate game sale currently on, I could think of so much more to put my points towards.
  • Screen looks pretty good, might have to sneak a few quid from my Xbox One budget.
  • Lost interest halfway through the video. Just looks like a generic Gears/Fuse hybrid.
  • its sad to say but its still a mass effect clone...but it looks good. if the story also good and no mp-cheevos it could be something.
  • Never heard of it. But it looks generic as hell. Then again, it IS only $10.
  • I will save my msp for Walking Dead on Friday thanks.
  • Gamespot slaughtered it with a 2.0/10 review, but it was one of those 'funny' people reviewing it so I'll try it out myself. Generic. Shooter. Clone. [/Quota Fulfilled]
  • nuggets and biscuits taste good.
  • this is utter POOP!!! just sayin'
  • It looks fine. Not a masterpiece or anything but could be fun. I'll buy it on sale for 400 for sure.
  • 4 player Campaign Co-op. Great just for that - especially 4 player tipsy.
