BioShock Infinite £34.99, pathetic.

Tomb Raider's worth the price though if you haven't played it already

Pretty awful deals considering some of the others really. Retail copies are as cheap if not cheaper for all of today's apart from Hitman and XCOM.

I spent my last 400MSP on the Hungarian account getting Hitman. Add that to Crysis and Bulletstorm, not bad for 720MSP :D

Tomb Raider is an absolute amazing game well worth playing apart from the multiplayer £20.00 at CEX so saving a fiver worth buying

BioShock is only £28 brand new at Game. How £34.99 can be deemed an 'ultimate sale' is beyond me.

Disappointed at the price of Bioshock Infinite after the good prices the last few days.

A quick check and you can buy the disk for £27.

And I agree with #1, Tomb Raider is def worth it.

Very dissapointed with Bioshock's price tag, was hoping for at least £19.99, was praying for £14.99 , and it's more than you buy it for in the shops. Was the only game in this sale I was looking forward to getting.

Bioshock is definitely NOT a ultimate game sale. More like game fail.

Will pick up Tomb Raider though.
After buying Far Cry 3 and Witcher 2, i'm happy with the sales in general though.

Bioshock likely is seeing the tag of "ultimate sale" considering it was JUST added to Games On Demand for the price of $59.99 and already saw a $20 price cut. Opposed to that it's comparable to gamestops price for it new.

I have not played Tomb Raider yet but did pick it up for that price, I can also recommend XCom pretty highly for fans of turn based strategy games.

Tomb Raider is amazing, definitely worth £15. I loved it, I'd put that 2nd in Best Game of the Year so far, behind Last of Us.

But saying that i've not played Bioshock Infinite yet

Ooof! Deals aren't as good today. TR is £12 at Blockbuster at the moment, while Bioshock Infinite is floating around the £15-20 price point.
Great sale overall but today has been a bit of a bust.

£35 is 33%, what absurd pricing was it originally? £50 - GTFO that is madness.

Anyway tempted by XCOM... oh and a heads up - Tomb Raider is already £15 in your local tesco if discs are more your forte.

Today’s deals are a joke. Just done a bit of research and most of these can be bought for cheaper, brand new, on disc. Here’s what I found:

[Game: Xbox.com | Amazon.co.uk | shopto.net]

Bioshock Infinite: £34:99 | £24.99 | £26.86
Tomb Raider: £14.99 | £15 | £21.85
Gears of War Judgment: £24.99 | £24.69 | £29.86
Metal Gear Rising Revengeance: £24.99 | £23 | £22.85
Hitman Absolution: £8.99 | £11.69 | £12.85
XCOM Enemy Unknown: £14.99 | £22.99 | £19.85

4 out of the 6 can be found cheaper (or the same price), and that’s only looking at 2 online retailers. If you were to factor in High-street Shops, Pre-owned games or eBay you’re bound to find every one of these cheaper.

The Games on Demand prices need to be at least £10 cheaper than a disc version for me to consider buying a digital release. I’m sure most people (including myself) would rather pay up to a tenner extra to get a disc copy of a game.

Only decent deal here really is Hitman: Absolution (and maybe XCOM). Also, according to Major Nelson’s blog, today’s deals are the last set of daily deals and are on sale until the 8th July. You would’ve thought that they would’ve wanted to go out with a bang, no?

Bioshock Infinite... £35... yeh, great sale, your finally selling it for the price everywhere else sold it at when it was released... for today only...
I don't get why they can charge £50 for a game... games cost no more then £40 when new with a couple of exceptions. -_- This needs to change for next gen, or microsoft digital distribution is just going to fail.

the only deal worth dealing with on today's Hungarian marketplace is hitman for 400 msp.

Was hoping that X-Com was £11.99 or under. I have played it before via rental and want to own it but considering it was £16.55 on Amazon last week for a disc version, £15 on this sale is not quite cheap enough for me to consider getting it. Wish I knew about this sooner, would have brought Witcher 2 instead.

People always forget that the trade-off of a couple of pounds/dollars on demand is that you don't have to get off your ass and go to the shops to buy the game.

Ease and convenience are two of the most important things for a consumer... yet sometimes not everyone of us lives 5 mins away from the shops.

I have to travel 15 miles to get to the nearest Game shop, and I'm in the UK so sometimes buying a game digitally is actually easier than paying for petrol to go to the shop to buy the game

@34 That's exactly why I've been getting more and more games digitally. Depending on weather, distance and my schedule, it's been much easier to set it to download while I sleep and the game's ready for me when I wake.

@23 Yeah because telling people of a cheaper offer is deception.... You should've looked at the conversion rate 1st before writing.

@30 It's about £22 so you're not far off... Got my account yesterday and managed to get 6 GoD's for 2,120 points (A little over £16.50 based off of the price I got the points for).

I'm sure it would have been mentioned in the article but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask: is the SP/MP content for Tomb Raider discounted? If not (which is likely), do you guys think there will be a sale for it sometime this year? I'd rather not pay 960 MSP (all SP content) for one or two tombs, some outfits and a couple upgrades. Screw the MP.

Other than that, it was nice to nab Table Tennis yesterday iirc and Divinity along with Prey. All that and TR. Hope there will be some good deals to come.

@39: By three years, those two games will be $10 together. Pretty sure the eventual shut-down of the servers is going to be ok. :)

Bioshock Infinite is at 49.99 Euros here, laughs.

Don't want to see it's price when it's not solded.

The only one a little interesting in the french marketplace is Hitman (9.99) but as the last hitman is not really good (compared to the previous ones), it's pretty much useless.

If you don't buy XCOM at that price, you're insane! It's a must have game for anyone's collection!!! I've only completed it once, and I've had over 40 playthroughs where something bad would happen, making me want to start over! NEVER gets boring! Think of it as a top down turn based squad shooter, with brilliant leveling up skills for your team, perma-death and I can't emphasise enough how great it is when you name your soldiers after people you know; it just makes the game more intense!

@39 and 42. You may well only be renting them (bloody long and cheap rent though) and you might loose access if/when they turn the PS+ Servers off, but they are FREE. Or if you are really pedantic they are ridiculously cheap rentals where the 1-year cost for ALL the games is about what M$ are charging for Infinite. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out which is the better deal.

You people forget that the price you pay in Game, Shopto, Play and supermarkets etc, are not the RRP ... these games are £49.99 really. Which is why the "sales" will always be more then what a shop would charge.

@42 Just so you know, Lovefilm has stopped doing game subscriptions and will most likely be removing them for current subscribers at a later date. No new games that Lovefilm haven't already got a contract to supply will be available as of 2 weeks ago, i.e. there basically is no Lovefilm games rental anymore

@54 And the last time you ever saw a game being properly sold at £49.99 (with the exception of ripoff merchants on amazon marketplace) was? RRP may be set at £49.99 (and £54.99 for CoD), but it's always utterly ignored and most games won't be seen priced above £42.99, generally they're £39.99.

@55/42 Lovefilm is ending game rental completely in August (don't have the exact date to hand)

Nothing for me in today's deal, not jumping through more hoops to get Tomb Raider from the Czech MP (960MSP if you're interested, partially region restricted apparently, PAL/USA is ok, JPN can't get it without a VPN)

Also available are Borderlands 2 dlc at 50%, and Mass Effect 3: Omega dlc at 50%. These represent a bigger saving than the season passes did.

XCOM is free on PS+

Shame about the Bioshock infinite "sale price" being £10 more then it costs in the shops. Epic, Epic Fail!

@42

From a strictly legal standpoint you don't own any game you buy you are just renting the license.

And maybe it's just me but I'm not bothered about only renting them, I rarely go back to play games, and if I do I'll easily be able to just re-download them.

@67, that's how I am: cheaper in some stores and it comes with a case? Why would I take up HD space, then?

Overall, none of these scream out as great deals to me - maybe the ones from yesterday - and I'm still bitter that I bought 'Crysis' maybe a month ago for full price and now it's on sale for only $5.

@65, go with 'Tomb Raider,' 'Hitman' was an absolute joke in the series and was nothing like the other games. It pretty much involves sneaking to a door within each level, it was terrible.

#69 Have to disagree,Hitman:Absolution is a very good game, its just different to the last gen games. Its evolved and personally I think they did a good job of it and yes I have played all the Hitman games-I still have my PS2 and copies of the games. So I would advise anyone who isn't a die-hard hitman traditionalist to get it,especially at this price.
OT:Not so many super savings today.Decided to try the 'Hungarian' ac and it was easy to set up and well worth considering-I just wish I did it day 1 of the sale, but Forza and The witcher 2 for 1000 msps is a real good deal!!

@59 - I use amazon and shopto pretty much exclusively for games now, unless I have loads of game reward points built up.

That's what I mean though - you either wait two days for delivery, or spend a couple extra pounds and get it now. It's that trade off which is what drives consumerism.

Hitman isn't listed in the GoD on my 360: Only Blood Money and the HD collection are listed or am I missing something?

Apparently the only good "sales" are the games I already own.

Hi guys sorry that this post is unrelated to the topic but I was wondering how I get my GT to show up to the left of my comments? My GT is linked but it doesn't display, please help.

Also none of todays deals are that good, I'm gonna buy Hitman online some other day since it's under a tenner usually anyways.

Ah, never mind I get what you're saying, but I think Sony are keeping both services up like Microsoft are doing with the 360 and One.

Bioshock is tempting but I just bought Crysis 1 and Far Cry 3 so I think ill hold out till $39.99 is the regular price in a retail setting. Might even wait till its a little cheaper than that.

@51 : About the PSN, they won't turn off the servers soon as the PS4 will also have it and the same account will be shared on the four systems (Vita, PSP, PS3, PS4).

It's easy to assume the PS5 will also use the same account.

I really like the 360 but it's pretty easy to tell the PSN deals are better (most people in US seems to already rent games on disc so it's the same thing) and most people probably also don't play lot of their games again once they finish them (I have more than 120 360 games but I just keep same because I don't want to sell them for 5 bucks. For 80% of the games that I just played once/for the story, I would have rented them, it would have change nothing).

And about the PSN servers, I wish myself good luck with my 150 XBLA games, when Microsoft will shutdown the servers (if it happen with Sony, it'll also happen with Microsoft one day) and when my 360 will die (they'll definitively die one day, it's not like the SNES/Genesis). No more way to get my licences back so I'll loose the 150 games I own, even if I buy a new 360.

So if I would have give the choice, I would have rather rent those 150 games with a PSN-like on 360, at least I wouldn't have spent as much money I did when I bought those games.

*be given*

About the XBLA games/Games on Demand, I think it's the same by the way (and same for steam), you just buy a license, you don't really "own" the game (they have the right to remove it if they have a valid reason).

@69: Thanks a lot I think I'll go with Tomb Raider for now.

@70: I'm thankful for your opinion, I'll se if I have some money left and maybe get Hitman.

Wishing Bioshock was cheaper, Tomb Raider came out some day before Infinite and it's price is much better.

Prey showed up as $19.99. What the heck? Perfect Dark Zero is back to $15, Origins is back to its original. Brothers and Mass Effect are still at sale though. Anyone know why?

These are good deals here in US. Tomb Raider is around the mid 40s. Bioshock is 55. Now Hitman is probably 14 used but 10 is still cheaper. Amazon has BS around 30 from sellers. So naybe in UK there shit deals.

Okay a little help, I just made a Hungarian account. I see XCOM for 880 points. So now I have to purchase points online, do I have to purchase it from amazon.uk or can I purchase it from the regular amazon? I live in the US.

About Hitman Absolution, it's not a bad game but the story really make the game a bad hitman.

Most of the levels are pretty boring and only some rare few levels have real targets like the previous game (Most levels are "escape the cops"...).

So I would personally advice to get Blood Money, except if you like Splinter Cell Conviction, if yes, go and take Absolution, it's more or less a rip-off so people who like Conviction and are not die-hard fans of Hitman franchise will like it.
