Capcom's classic side-scroller Strider first launched in arcades back in 1989 and is set to return in Strider for current and next-gen consoles, care of developer Double Helix. Promising the same intense side-scrolling action platforming, Strider Hiryu is back with the same classic super fast combat and ninja traversal.
Set within the expansive metropolis of Kazakh City, described as "a mix of ornate Russian architecture and hard-edged futuristic high-rise buildings with sprawling energy cables and pipework," you'll be able to freely explore the city and its surroundings, acquiring new abilities and items that enable you to gain access to more of the game's world.
In the year Meio: 048, Strider takes place on an alternate Earth that's under the iron fist of the all-powerful Grand Master Meio. Hiryu must put his skills in sabotage and assassination acquired in the gruelling Strider training programme to good use, in order to topple the nefarious Grand Master.
Strider Hiryu will have a range of combat options and abilities in his arsenal, including ranged weapons like Kunai throwing daggers, his indestructible 'Cypher' plasma weapon, a climbing sickle and acrobatic moves like leaps and mid-air flips.
