DICE is taking Battlelog to a whole other level with Battlefield 4, as shown in this new trailer that breaks down the integrated social and mobile app features you'll find in the game.
Using a smartphone or tablet with the companion app installed, you'll be able to utilise a second screen (Battlescreen) as a mini-map, while being able to switch your loadouts during respawn waiting times or throw down the gauntlet to friends with specific challenges you can create and assign. You'll also be notified if someone beats your score.
You're also able to seek out new servers to play on via a mobile device without quitting your game, and you can set up your parameters and loadouts while away from Battlefield 4. Geo Leaderboards is another new addition to Battlelog, that lets you tackle challenges and become the best in your local area, in your city or in the world. You can make new friends or enemies this way, if you like.
Battlelog promises to make Battlefield 4 a "deeper, richer experience," although unlike FIFA 14, it won't support cross-generation saves. Ah, well. You can find out more about BF4's Battlelog in the video below.
Battlefield 4 is out on October 29th in North America and November 1st in Europe for Xbox 360 with the Xbox One version to follow.
