I'm super excited for this, I loved LA Noire.Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 06:36 AM
Hmm, how long did was LA Noire in development for? Next gen for them probably means PS5 and Xbox one mark two!Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 06:40 AM
It's got plenty of resemblances to L.A. Noire. That can be both good and bad. Still waaaay too early to know if I want to pass up this game or not.Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 06:42 AM
I find this Whore'd to believeFriday, August 02, 2013 @ 06:45 AM
Either he IS a police officer, orient.Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 06:58 AM
I thought this was canceled?Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 07:00 AM
Loving the puns, people. Good work :)Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 07:01 AM
Looks boring to me. I liked LA Noire but the talking parts were boring and not as fun as having a conversation in mass effectFriday, August 02, 2013 @ 07:07 AM
LA Noire was one of the best games of the last 10 years. That being said, this looks like shit. Extremely choppy and broken animations. But obviously this video was never intended for release.Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 07:15 AM
Looks like Shanghai Noire to me.Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 07:19 AM
Looks like John woo meets Indiana jones meets sleeping dogsFriday, August 02, 2013 @ 07:24 AM
Well I'll be, pre-alpha footage looking like pre-alpha footage.Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 07:30 AM
I've still got my fingers crossed that this gets a release. Obviously this is from a early build (choppy animation, fighting, etc.), so it can still get much better. More development time is a good thing.Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 07:41 AM
Reminds me of Sleeping Dogs, although the fighting clearly needs ALOT of work. If it is 'Shanghai Noire' then I'll be getting it for sure. Loved everything about L.A. Noire, people saying it's boring just didn't appreciate how complex it really was, or maybe it required a certain level of intelligence, something these modern day CoD Worshipers don't have.Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 07:43 AM
Look interest for this new IP game also combat fights in video show very slow. So if this game going be release one day then we hope they fixing combats. :)Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 07:47 AM
I hope it is indeed an early build. 'Cause the animation and the AI looks cheap as hell. That guy at the end who's still standing buy when the hero is shooting at him... God... I though we were talking about next-gen console with a lot more calculation power...Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 08:05 AM
So many people making assumptions based on what seems to be very early build of the game. What happened to waiting for actual official gameplay released. For what it's worth if it's anything like LA Noir it should be just as much fun. Definitely not game for everyone...Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 08:15 AM
I didn't find LA Noire boring, I liked the whole 1940s atmosphere. From the way people dressed/talked to the music and driving around in many types of classic vehicles. This battle scene footage looks like New Yorks China town?Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 08:39 AM
Excuse me if this is ignorant, but is this detective title ala LA Noire?Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 09:19 AM
Whore you fighting against in this game?Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 09:42 AM
Its Sleeping Dogs 1944.Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 12:56 PM
The gameplay looks very boring and very stilted/clunky. I know it's still in development but I hope it gears up for something better.Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 04:36 PM
Buffering, buffering, buffering, bye...Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 05:44 PM
@19 - There won't be any official footage if the rumours about the studio going under are true.Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 09:18 PM
Hmm.... Wonder how long it going to take until first word of the title pisses out certain groups and demand a name change for you crazy brits it probably going to be call" birds of the Orient". 2nd if this like a old Shanghai like city ....then there probaly use of drugs like opium! so those crazy Aussies can say it has drug use and BAM! One banned game. And three team bondi we all know yoy had troubles with rockstar and take-two so who really the whore?Friday, August 02, 2013 @ 11:29 PM
There's a game with "Whore" in the name???! What the whore?! :OSaturday, August 03, 2013 @ 12:55 AM
@27 or Walmart refuse to stock the game due to the use of name and it gets changed for you crazy Yanks I enjoyed LA Noire but the out spoken studio head really turns me off Team Bondi gamesMonday, August 05, 2013 @ 01:04 PM
it will be re branded. 'professional ladies of the night of the orient' damn PC brigade.Tuesday, August 27, 2013 @ 08:28 PM
Here's to hoping this game get's off the ground and into our consoles.Thursday, September 19, 2013 @ 07:35 PM
Where are the oriental whores?
Friday, August 02, 2013
Footage from LA Noire developer Team Bondi's troubled next-gen project Whore of the Orient has leaked online today, showing a first glimpse of the studio's follow-up to its Rockstar-published detective yarn.
Supplied by a trusted source, the gameplay video shows the lead character doing a lot of running around, using cover, having a fight and engaging in some gunplay. Warner Bros. is rumoured to have dropped Whore of the Orient late last year.
An open-world action title slated for release on next-gen platforms, there's a question mark hanging over Whore of the Orient's future, although Team Bondi's Brendan McNamara describes it as "one of the great untold stories of the 20th century."
Check out the leaked Whore of the Orient footage below.
