Tekken X Street Fighter is Still Coming, Says Harada

Tekken X Street Fighter is still coming, we're just not sure when. Even Tekken maestro Katsuhiro Harada doesn't seem all that sure either. Announced alongside Street Fighter X Tekken three years ago, Tekken X Street Fighter is taking its sweet time getting here, and it's apparently all down to timing.
“We will say first off that the game is still in development, so you don’t need to worry about that," said Harada. "There are several reasons why we haven’t released any updates. One of the reasons is, Street Fighter X Tekken was released. That still had updates until recently. One interesting thing we’ve seen with that title when it came out was that it’s not quite what we expected.”
It appears that Harada hadn't anticipated just just how much interest there would be in a Street Fighter and Tekken crossover, with Tekken's main man noting that there's also a new community popping up around Street Fighter X Tekken. Harada is looking for the right time to release Tekken X Street Fighter.
“It was not just Tekken fans and Street Fighter fans merging, there seems to be a whole new community growing around that title that wasn’t playing either of the titles up until that point. That was very unexpected, but quite cool," Harada noted. "It’s something we want to take care and grow. Rather than throw out our title right away while those people are still interested in [Street Fighter X Tekken] we are looking for the right time because we are still developing [Tekken X Street Fighter].”
So far, only Kazuya Mishima and Ryu have been locked down for Tekken X Street Fighter's roster, and when pressed on which other Tekken and Street Fighter stalwarts we can expect to see, Harada remains tight-lipped. “We are making progress, but everything is secret so we can’t say anything about that,” he laughed.
Presumably, we can expect to see Tekken X Street Fighter on next-generation consoles at this point in the current-gen life cycle, although nothing's been confirmed on that front as yet.
