Payday 2 launches everywhere this week, offering a hefty dollop of bank robbing heist action for 4-players co-opping it up. One of Payday 2's characters could soon be female however, if developer Overkill Software gets around to it as part of its "year of DLC" that it has planned for the game.
"There's like a year of DLC planned," commented Payday 2's Game Director, David Goldfarb. A female bank robber could be part of the plan too, accoring to Goldfarb. It's just a question of when the studio will get around to doing it.
"I know, actually that's one of the first things I have on my list, is to make sure we get a female character. I'm hoping - I don't know if we'll get it as our first DLC, because we'd have to redo all the animations so it doesn't look like a dude walking around with a female body. But I'd like to do that."
Goldfarb would even like his two daughters to one day be able to "mask up" in the game, although the game's mature rating prevents them from doing so at present.
"Believe me, I have said this and we've talked about it, so I think it will happen, it's just a question of when on the timeline. Because I want, like I said, I want my daughters to be able to - no, I'd need to wait a bit for that - but in theory, it'd be cool for them to mask up," said Goldfarb. "I just think it'd be cool if we had both, that's all. It's definitely on our list. One of the many things that are on our list."
Payday 2 is out now in North America and later this week in Europe.
