Sold! Will need a new campaign, but always good to have an excuse to play more Xcom!

I heard this is just going to be on a disc rather than DLC can anyone confirm whether it will be downloadable as a DLC pack?

Reading this on Joystiq earlier, they didn't make it sound so appealing. I LOVE XCOM and was excited by the Steam achievements leak, but I'm hoping this can be purchased via DLC as Joystiq said there would be an Xbox version called the "Commander Edition" that includes a copy of Enemy Unknown and the Slingshot and Elite Soldier content packs.

There was no mention of it being made available as a standalone, and as much as I love the game, I wouldn't be willing to buy it outright again. Still, I haven't bought the Slingshot pack as I didn't think it was good value for money, but overall this "expansion" description sounds much more appealing.

I *really* don't want to have to purchase a second standalone copy of XCOM:EU just because EW is bundled with it - I'd much prefer to just download EW as DLC. I've already got the other content packs, I don't need them again either.

Ugh. I've been so excited to hear about this content and that little tidbit just breaks it for me. I'll still end up buying it, as I loved the game, but I'm pretty put off by the aspect of having to buy it twice.

Would be stupid not to have it as DLC for those of us with a copy already.

So it sounds like this is going to be disc based dlc, ala Dragon Age Awakening then. I don't mind. Might be old fashioned, but I'll kinda like having another XCOM box sitting next to the first.

@9 - I should have said disc based expansion, as disc based dlc makes no sense.

@10 - What would that be? Like no story and just a one off battle type thing?

So this sounds like it will be a disc based expansion, but I would like to know, will this expansion have access to your previous save files and if so can your import them into this expansion. Or will you have to start out with a bunch of new soldiers with zero resources.

I've been debating getting this game for a while and this secures the deal.
