Battlefield 4 will launch with seven multiplayer modes, playable across all 10 launch day maps, DICE has confirmed.
Launch modes include Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Rush, Domination and Conquest. In addition to this Defuse and Obliteration will also be available at launch, both of which are new to Battlefield 4.
In Obliteration mode, "two teams face off on medium-sized battlegrounds where one bomb spawns in a random central location,” explains DICE.
"The mission: To pick up the bomb and arm it at one of the enemy's three military installations and blow it up. When the bomb has detonated, a new bomb spawns in a random location, and the race is on again. The first team to destroy all three objectives wins."
Info on Defuse has been a little more thin on the ground, but DICE has now revealed a few more details, saying, "We also have a second all-new game mode in Battlefield 4 called Defuse – where players don’t have any respawns at all for an even tighter and quicker infantry-only game mode. More on Defuse later."
Battlefield 4 is out on October 29th in the US and November 1st in the UK on current-gen consoles. Next-gen versions will be out before the end of the year.
