Ubisoft Massive is living up to its name with Tom Clancy's The Division, an ambitious open-world RPG in which you're cast as a special agent tasked with restoring Manhattan to some semblance of normality following the outbreak of a virus that's plunged society back into the dark ages.

Like any RPG worth its salt, The Division promises levelling, progression, customisation, exploration and plenty of loot, as Ubisoft Massive Game Director Ryan Barnard told us when we managed to get a few minutes with him during a special Ubisoft event at Gamescom.

We quizzed Barnard on the workings of PvP, the game's scope, its story, venturing into new territory with The Division, and much, much more. Watch the interview below. The Division will be heading to next-gen platforms in winter 2014.

"Like any RPG worth its salt, The Division promises levelling, progression, customisation, exploration and plenty of loot."

I think the term 'RPG' got bastardised at some point in time.

Anyway Massive were responsible for Far Cry 3's co-op. That was good. On paper.

I am so proud with Ubisoft moment because they bought epic Rayman Legends and awesome Splinter Cell: Blacklist this month. I am so exciting about this one, Watch_Dogs and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flags.

Ubisoft is one of my favourite developers of all-time with Nintendo, Rockstar Games, Retro Studios, Turn 10 Studios, Naughty Dogs and Rocksteady Studios. They all my topper developers in world. They alway bought us epic games. :)

This is easily second games on my must own list next year, first being Destiny. Noting like bunch of co-op with random PvP encounters. Playing fantasy games got boring for me at this point, so this is perfect change in directions for a old and good formula=D
