Top 50 FIFA 14 Players Revealed, Gareth Bale Only 17th
Written By
View author's profile

EA Sports has released a list of the top 50 players in FIFA 14 and FIFA 14: Ultimate Team, and there’s some... interesting decisions in there.

For a start, the most expensive player in the world - Gareth Bale - is only number 17 on the list, with a rating of 87. Also, according to Editor Dan, Luis Suárez should have a higher ranking than 33. “What a load of fucking bullshit,” Dan screamed at me when he read the list. “They’re being fucking anti-biteist.”

The fact that Dan's a Liverpool fan and I'm a Spurs fan has nothing to do with any of our reservations, of course.

Have a look below and see what you think. FIFA 14 is out on September 24th in North America and September 27th in Europe for Xbox 360. It'll be available for Xbox One on launch day. Pre-orders of the Xbox One Day One Edition in Europe come with a digital copy of FIFA 14 for free.

OT: Solid list, however, doesnt anyone else think Ribery should've had at least a +1?

Only 2 English players in the top 50, and Greg Dyke thinks England should win the WC in 2022!
Would love some of what he is on!

Would you pay £85m for a guy who has played 10 Champions League games, had a good 18 months and has done nothing at International level?

And also, it's ridiculous to say that because Bale is worth 100 million euros because (along the lines of what someone else said) he has hardly achieved anything apart from having a good past couple of seasons. There is a photo comparing Ronaldo and Bale and Bale has achieved nothing that Ronaldo had when he moved to Madrid. It doesn't make sense.

Bale has been easily the best player in the Prem over the last 18 months. He deserves at least an 87.

How have Kompany and Aguero gone up? They had very poor seasons last year compared with their performances in Citys title winning year.

@4 I believe Big Emile packed it in over the summer.

@12 I hope you understand the difference between FIFA and real life.

Also, I'm not too sure about Pedro and Ashley Cole being rated so high. Maybe Cole but certainly not Pedro.

Lol @23, Leo scored loads more goals for a team against the same opposition despite the fact that Barcelona do not generate many chances(Hard to believe, but their possession doesn't create much)

I'm not sure how Ribery is #3, I've never rated him

Well, it looks like Suarez is tied for 21st if you ask me :) I do feel he should be an 89 if 30 year old RVP is. Suarez and Bale were both finalists for BPL player of the year, yet they are 17th and 33rd in the ratings but RVP is 8th? EA needs to get off United's dick. Also, get rid of your handicap for weak online clubs and punish the quitters

I agree, a severe punishment should be handed down to quitters.

I also agree with Suarez being higher since the stats on the game are determined by ability, and not affected by discipline

@29 But how can you tell difference between actual quitters and EA's crap servers kicking people.Never will be proper punishment for quitters because EA's servers are so bad at times.
I agree Suarez should be higher because off his stats being better than Bale and RVP last season.Mata was Chelsea's best player last year so that's why he's high, others seem overrated but its still a good list.

Neymar is still an 85 on Fifa 14. His important stats are also amazing, so wouldn't worry too much about the 'overall' ratings.

If anyone could score loads in that team, then why did leo score 3 times more than anyone else?
As for "one of the greatest teams in the history..."...
Valdes - fucking garbage, easily the worst big name keeper
Dani alves - a winger playing at full back
Jordi alba - a winger playing at full back
Pique - underperformed last season
Puyol - well past his prime
Busquets - cheat
Xavi - well past his primr, can only pass the ball three yards, only cares about his passing stat
Iniesta - the most underrated player of this generation
Alexis - mid table player
Messi - best in the world
Villa/pedro - underperformed

Not even close to one of the best ever. I hate people who are pro-cristiano(in a leo vs cristiano) because they buy into the crap that barca create more chances.

I think Gareth Bale should be further back. Sure he has played pretty darn good over the past few Seasons but he is no Ronaldo. He hasn't achieved much too be fair and he'll be definitely having a few learning curves at his new club.

The list other than that is pretty decent and accurate. RVP seems to be at the right place, Iniesta also a great player and at the right place.

I look forward to FIFA 14 having missed out on FIFA 12 + 13 (I got bored of the series) although I am not getting it on Release.

EA are insane thinking they will be getting great sales within the first week when GTA V is released 7 days before in US and 10 days in EU.

From just this list you can see a few very worrying things such as vidic still being an 87(what the hell are EA thinking), suarez only being an 86 and lower than aguero and rooney. But whats more worrying is when you look at the stats of the players:
Lewandowski having 78!! shooting
Robben having 80 passing
Aguero and silva having better dribbling than cazorla
Vidic having 90 heading and being rated the best defender in the prem
Van Persie having 3 more shooting than Falcao! LOL good one

However as with recent fifas i guess the most important stat is pace

@40 I agree, also noticed last year that Vidic was the best CB in PL, even though he was injured most of the previous season. How does he keep getting rated so highly. Baines should be pretty high this year as well as Vertonghen.

@38 im not pro Ronaldo but i think he is better because hes proved he can do it in other leagues and Messi only scores 3x more because everytime any barca players in the box they still give it to him to score from 6-7 yards every week.He is also pathetic at international level even worse than the whole england team
