Here’s some new Batman: Arkham Origins details, including info on a new extra hard mode and some DLC that will switch the action to Asia.
Let’s start with the hard mode. Unlocked after players have completed the main game and then New Game Plus, I Am The Night Mode will give you just one life and not allow you to save.
“The main narrative arc and side missions last about 12 hours, and then you have all the collectibles,” explained producer Guillaume Voghel. “To get 100 per cent of that will take much, much longer.”
“We have a new difficulty level, New Game Plus is coming back - that's really difficult - and when you're done with that there's I Am The Night mode - which is no saves and one life."
Meanwhile, some upcoming DLC for Arkham Origins will be set in Asia and see you play as Bruce Wayne. It’s called Initiation.
"You play as Bruce Wayne learning to be a ninja," said Guillaume Voghel. "That's a really cool one. Narratively there's some added content that will give players a little more background story." The narrative will see Wayne prove himself to Kirigi, the teacher ninja dude that trained Ra's al Ghul's League of Assassins.
"[But] it's not League of Assassins, it's ninja-related," said Voghel. "It's when he learned to be a ninja and learned those techniques. He goes to a monastery - custom content was created for the DLC. You'll be in Asia in the monastery. The team did a great job on that, it looks really good."
All good stuff, right? You’ll be able to pick up the Initiation DLC as part of Batman: Arkham Origins’ Season Pass, which will set you back £15.99/$19.99. You can read more on what the pass grants access to here.
Batman: Arkham Origins is out on October 25th.
