Batman: Arkham Origins DLC Sees Bruce Wayne Training to be a Ninja in Asia

Here’s some new Batman: Arkham Origins details, including info on a new extra hard mode and some DLC that will switch the action to Asia.

Let’s start with the hard mode. Unlocked after players have completed the main game and then New Game Plus, I Am The Night Mode will give you just one life and not allow you to save.

“The main narrative arc and side missions last about 12 hours, and then you have all the collectibles,” explained producer Guillaume Voghel. “To get 100 per cent of that will take much, much longer.”

“We have a new difficulty level, New Game Plus is coming back - that's really difficult - and when you're done with that there's I Am The Night mode - which is no saves and one life."

Meanwhile, some upcoming DLC for Arkham Origins will be set in Asia and see you play as Bruce Wayne. It’s called Initiation.

"You play as Bruce Wayne learning to be a ninja," said Guillaume Voghel. "That's a really cool one. Narratively there's some added content that will give players a little more background story." The narrative will see Wayne prove himself to Kirigi, the teacher ninja dude that trained Ra's al Ghul's League of Assassins.

"[But] it's not League of Assassins, it's ninja-related," said Voghel. "It's when he learned to be a ninja and learned those techniques. He goes to a monastery - custom content was created for the DLC. You'll be in Asia in the monastery. The team did a great job on that, it looks really good."

All good stuff, right? You’ll be able to pick up the Initiation DLC as part of Batman: Arkham Origins’ Season Pass, which will set you back £15.99/$19.99. You can read more on what the pass grants access to here.

Batman: Arkham Origins is out on October 25th.

Sorry about double post but I just had a thought. Will the 'I am the Night' game play difficulty be at Normal of NG+?

@4 I am not an Asian either and can get over a hundred hit combos. Not sure why you think only an Asian could do that?

seems ruthless especially if its NG+ difficulty (as soon as those goons start shooting you have got no chance!) but if its on normal and you get some perks after completing NG+ (better bullet proof amour or something else) as well as keeping all your upgrades it could be fun. Now i just need to explain to the Mrs i need half a day straight one weekend reserved for playing one game! and thats if you do it first go without dying.

Pretty sure this will be the last cheevo for this game but it must be done as i have 100% on both previous games.

No saves is a silly idea.
No one has the time to do that, unless the game is concerningly short.
And imagine getting to the end and being defeated by the final boss?!
That would literally resort to hours of your life that you could not get back, as well as making you think 'well I got that far I can definitely do it lets try all over again'.
Still, apart from me not even trying to get this achievement, I cannot wait to play this game :D

Not getting this truly awsome game over 1 achievement? Wow

Is that all you play video games for? If thats the case I feel sorry for you. I know im on a achievement site but come on. Thats just like sayin...oh im gonna cancel my xbox one because its not the day one edition that comes with a 0 point achievement!

Anyways. I love challenges like this, more games should be like this. It makes you feel very awarded doing this kind of stuff.

I will be gitting this for the game itself. NOT a achievement!

It saddens me that a harder difficulty is now considered DLC

@10 The producer says it takes 12 hours to do the main story and side missions. So you could do this in 4-5 hours.

Sounds like this will be the shortest story in an Arkham game yet if it only takes 12 hours to do the story AND side content. I'm a bit concerned this franchise is going to go the way of Assassin's Creed...

Game then new game + and I am the night and next game will have the game then new game + and I am the night and then I am the night + lol but because how hard it will be you get 4 save points so you have to choose wisely and you get an achievement for not using a save point damn I want to play the next game now

that sounds like a rather punishing mode. I really only put in serious game time when my kids have gone to bed though & I just wouldn't have the time to even attempt this mode. Maybe in a year while they're at school.

Well all I brought out of this is that DLC is done already and instead of putting it in the game they will charge for it later. Fucking bussiness models of late are pissing me off, but having said that, I do like the idea of this DLC as it sounds a bit similar to what we had in batman begins movie=)

I just wish the game was longer=( 12 hrs with side mission is really not a whole lot... And I wonder if collectibles will be worthwile like unlocking extra missions in Arkham City or just to take up more time like in Arkham Asylum... Guess we will find out in a month...

I'm hoping that "no saves" means that it deletes the save when you die. Because an achievement that takes a 12+ hour marathon to complete is just idiotic.

No saves AND a twelve hour story-line?
This shouldn't be called "I am the Night".... it should be called, "Batman: Bladder of Steel"

@30 Its not going to take 12 hours. You're obviously not going to do the side missions in I Am The Night mode, and you turn off the xbox to go to the bathroom? You can pause games ya know.

Won't bother with that mode. I've already wasted so much time on "time heavy" achievements in the past like Rock Band 2's Bladder of Steel, Max Payne 3's The Shadows Rushed Me, and Mortal Kombat 9's My Kung Fu Is Stronger.

No thanks.

Aren't they encouraging what are deemed unsafe gaming practices? You're meant to take a break at regular intervals, not play for multiple hours straight. Of course, the game could end up being six hours long...

Bear in mind, it could be that you can autosave at points in the game incase you turn it off etc, just if you die you can't reload the save..

That wouldn't be too bad..

I am so happy I stopped caring about achievements earlier this year. I used to be so hardcore about it (passing on games, staying up all night, boosting sessions) I got burned out.

Now I play for the pure enjoyment of games again and I feel like a kid discovering gaming all over again. So many good titles I missed out on because of achievements or started to hate after I completed them.

No more! This game looks like fun, and I plan to enjoy it. I won't be playing I am the Night mode. I don't have time for that crap anymore.

Thumb me down if you want. I realize what the name of the site is. I don't judge anyone for gaming for achievements, but I definitely enjoy gaming more since I stopped caring about them.

Well... updated word is, you CAN save, but if you die - the game will revert back to start. You won't be able to use the save, it will be overwritten.

That makes it more sensible. I'm definitely okay with this.

@#39 seriously? there's fully an achievement called "I am the night." 70 gamerscore. bottom of the list.
@#10 that may be the most stupid/pathetic thing I've ever heard.
@#37 I agree with you. mad respect for that.
@#17/18 you got a thumb up from me just because you acknowledged yur mistake.
@#38 are you sure? if so there may be a way to beat the system. every time you save just copy the file to cloud or a memory stick or something and then if you screw it up, just load up a different one, delete the screwed up one and copy it again (just in case).
