Capcom Europe To Cut Half its Workforce

It looks like rough times ahead for Capcom Europe, with the company having to initiate a major restructure of its operations following disappointing performances on a string of high-profile titles. These include DmC: Devil May Cry and Lost Planet 3, which both suffered poor launch numbers, and Resident Evil 6, which fell short of its projected sales predictions.
As a result, Capcom Europe is looking to slash its workforce in half with redundancies on the cards and a number of jobs to merge.
“Following a restructure at its US operation, Capcom’s European organisation is currently evaluating its structure to ensure it is in the best position to take advantage of the changing market conditions the industry is facing,” a Capcom representative told MCV.
