Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Turns Up Assassin's Creed: Rising Phoenix Clues

It might be an in-joke for all we know, given that this emerged back in March, but Assassin's Creed: Rising Phoenix has been spotted once again, this time within Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Ubisoft said at the time that the listing initially spied for Rising Phoenix was fake, and so it was forgotten.

But now, Assassin's Creed: Rising Phoenix, has risen again, much like a phoenix, and you can find it in ACIV. Following sequences 6, you return to Abstergo Entertainment's offices, where you're able to explore level 2 security areas. Within one of these areas, you'll find a sticker placed in a corner with the 'Assassin's Creed: Rising Phoenix

Speculation abound that it could be a handheld or mobile title in the works, or even a spin-off movie of some description. Frankly, it could be anything or nothing. Time will tell. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is out now, and you can read our review here.

Quite funny if it is a joke. But knowing Ubisoft it'll probably be a full price game releasing next week

I've been thoroughly enjoying some of the AC universe tidbits you get from hacking computers. Though the frogger style mini-game is starting to get on my nerves.

Could be another one of those animated movies.
The last one was Ascendance right?
Seems to fit. Ascend/Rise.
That or the games aren't dead yet and we have another yearly release on the horizon

I've lost faith in AC. AC3 was so boring I didn't even complete it. Black flag looks good but its probably the same has AC3.

That second picture looks like something that could be like a cryo-freeze thing, possible frozen Desmond? Inputing his genes/DNA into a lab rat?! HEAVY SPECULATION, just what popped into my head at first glance lol.

#5 - I think AC4 is easily the best yet! I'm absolutely loving it, you seem to have more of a reason to explore or hunt now, rather than feeling a bit disconnected from everything in AC3. The naval combat is brilliantly done, and you never feel like your next upgrade feels too far away.

I couldn't hold off buying it for the X360 any longer, a friend has in on the PS3 and has been going on about how good it is, so I succumbed and bought it now, even though I have the Xbox One Black Chest edition coming in a couple of weeks... And you know what? I can't wait to do it all again. :D

What we almost need in AC now is a purely modern one, that ties everything together and finishes the story once and for all.

The Templars have gained enough knowledge to pursue these artifacts and unleash them to unto the world, and now the modern Assassin's must stop it, and so on.

Basically, end of the world as we know it, or almost.

@7 Agreed, but still 2 tops it because of the character development for Ezio. Also some things just don't make sense in IV, like Assassination contracts are available from the beginning though later on you get a reason why you can do them. (I actually waited for some clarification before I started doing them)

@8 A modern one though I kinda dislike to say it will most likely come eventually. Who the main character for the Assassin's will be who bloody knows. I could see them tying in the worlds of Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed then it has some Hitman mechanics perhaps? Just bringing driving and stuff into this franchise would make it ehhh idk how to say it. I think it would lose momentum. Feel more like a GTA game.

@9 Feudal Japan/China is possible is possible since one of Desmond's ancestors are in that lineage (shown in email in AC4 a list of important times that have been in his lineage) also a Wild West story would be kinda cool, if they make it better than a Red Dead game somehow.

@11 I rather liked AC4 story wise, you can't compare it to Ezio's because that was a 3 game build up on his story of course its going to be in depth. AC4 built Edward up pretty well, won't talk about spoilers but his character progression really was a drastic difference even if it came closer to the end, though subtle signs were showing his change in nature and all that.

@9/10

Phoenix is not Asian. So while this may "sound Asian" to you, and the game might set there, the title should not leave anyone to think this.

PLAUSIBLE SPOILERS

Phoenix Rising could relate to the First Civilization Juno taking over a body and leading us toward the end of the franchise?

@7 see I couldn't get into ac3 either. Found it boring and useless, I got it when it was on sale for on demand. I regret buying it but my friend says IV is really fun and the way you explained it makes it sound like it's better than 3. I might have to get it used in a few weeks to try it out.

I've been loving AC4 so far on Xbox 360, and I'm excited to replay it on the Xbox One on the 22nd to see if I can notice any difference.

Assassins Creed needs a complete reboot if it wants to keep the numbers up. 3 and 4 still don't touch assassins creed 2.

@14 The end of the franchise, some will argue probably came after Brotherhood. Some will argue that the end of the franchise, or the demise rather, was the mess that is AC3. Black Flag, while a full retail game appears to be filler. Abstergo hires an employee to look further into Desmond's DNA? Please...these are the types of shitty little excuses to continue pumping out AC games.

@13 Thank you! I don't know what everyone's fascination is with feudal Japan and how it will help the series. Any little detail that arises people's first instinct is a Japanese theme.

I can't wait to hear about the plot of the next AC game, actually I'm surprised it hasn't been announced yet.

@23: India seems to be the most plausable set up for the next game if the Brahman Graphic Novel is any indicator
